The real 1999 French Grand Prix was a classic race with an outcome we are looking to recreate in our Formula One 99 playthrough. No pressure.
You know how there are certain films that you can appreciate on a technical level but once you've finished them you never want to see them again? That, but with video games. Specifically TOCA 1.
I had much the same reaction to it, albeit when the game was out originally on Xbox 360 🧓, but I too remember it vividly. It just instantly gave you that sense of wonder and scale, whilst still being quite low key. The combat does feel a bit clunky in the first one, but I still love it.
GOOD NEWS. Started again, 15 hours in, and I'm past Feros where the game broke last time. Although now I'm keeping multiple saves just in case. Never again.
The 1999 Canadian Grand Prix was a chaotic and, at the time, record breaking race. Our Formula One 99 recreation has a bloody good go at matching it...
If you've not done Feros yet, be wary. Have a couple of backup saves just in case! Looking into it I think this glitch happened in the original game too and was never patched. I have made it through without happening before so I've just been unlucky this time sadly!
Been playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition for the PS4. 13 hours in, game-breaking glitch I can't get around. Need to start again. Pain. Pure pain.

The real 1999 Spanish Grand Prix only had one on-track overtake. With how aggressive the AI are in Formula One 99 I'm sure we won't have that problem here as we look to get back to the top of the standings.
