So, when I do pet portraits, sometimes I have a neck and a basic background, and sometimes I do just a head. I do occasionally get asked why that is. Well, this is why! I like to make them into stickers and pins (though I do not do this as part of any commissions at this time. Future maybe!).

New pet portrait! Randal the axolotl. His gills are actually kind of short and funky, but we love him all the same.

So today we share something a little different. I’ve got more to share once they’re framed, but today is a portrait of Smedley, a male plakat betta. He’s made out of recycled DVDs, turned into a mosaic.

Well, little Randal the axolotl had to go to the vet on Tuesday, so I had axolotls on the brain when testing out some new supplies. Nothing super high effort, but when you’re just testing stuff who cares?
