See if you can get hold of the Director's Cut. It's 1000x better and it'll feel different cos there's a bunch of new scenes in the first half.

Oh thanks for reminding me to actually uninstall the damn thing after I quit playing it when the Rowling collabs were announced (and I was a DIE-HARD player, but they've gotten scummier and scummier)

The director's cut is about 40 minutes longer, and they are basically two different stories told through the same setting. If you enjoy this version, try and hunt down the director's cut afterwards. It's phenomenal compared to the theatrical cut and hardly anyone saw it.

If this is the type of movie getting 'mixed to average' reviews then I worry about the state of horror cinema. This is proper, clever, powerful, scary genre work. Get it seen. Blew me away.

Ignore the stupid Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic-weighted scores. Lee Cronin's The Mummy is the horror movie of the decade. It's this decade's The Exorcist. It is phenomenal. An absolute must for all horror fans with strong stomachs.
