Genuinely impressed with the people of Strasbourg, France:
1. Blaring Bud Bunny in a traditional building serving this dish
&
2. Older local gentleman drunkenly walking home from the bar after saying so long to his pals, singing to himself RHCP’s “give it away, give it away, give it away, now…”

That freedom parkway onramp 😬!
A view of heavy traffic on interstate 75/85 with solid ribbons of headlights on both sides. Grady hospital is in the center.
Grady Curve, 9:53pm yesterday. Insane.
Atlanta streets choked with traffic, 2 hours to get out of PCM parking deck, yet BeltLine is freedom with people free flowing.
Past time to add rail on the BeltLine to move more Atlantans unobstructed from car traffic.
Trail remains open during 🚧

Traffic doesn't have to mean gridlock.
It's not just about bikes. Pedestrians shouldn't have to sacrifice an inch in our city, not when Ocean Ave currently has 4 lanes dedicated to the moving & storage of cars. Get rid of the parking on one side, meter more spots & add loading zones on the other, & keep or widen the existing sidewalk.
Rather than take the parking lane and turning it into a wide protected bike lane, they're taking part of the green space, narrowing the sidewalk, and installing a narrow two-way lane. NYC is not building bike infrastructure for the future. This lane will be quickly be functionally obsolete.
*FeelsGood*.gif can’t wait!!
Those eastside BeltLine plazas prime for more housing, with killer views of the city and direct access to trails, parks, & some of the city’s best public schools.
Damn shame the city used our taxpayer dollars that led to private storage a block from here instead of more housing.
BeltLine and Porchfest type of weekend.
Enjoy it.
Atlanta needs to convert more streets into BeltLine-esque spaces.
People clearly want more.

The Revolution will be delayed due to street repaving.
Atlanta has magic in the air ✨
👏 I would add- take a hard look at the funds still accruing and apply them on high value appropriately.
BeltLine TAD alone had $183mil / $242 mil annual budget spent this year alone and… $0 for transit.
That’s enough $$$ to nearly build the whole trail again & a transit project or two.
The lack of *clear* opposition to Atlanta’s proposed blanket TAD extension is very disappointing. Most nonprofits and “advocates” are either quiet, both-sidesing the issue, or saying “it’s complicated.”
It’s really not that complicated. The Atlanta Way powers that be just want you to think it is.

Parents and children gather on a car-free “school street” in Lyon that is filled with trees, plants, lighting, and colourful markings.

Cities don’t fail women by accident, they're designed that way.
And unless we plan mobility through an intersectional lens, we’ll keep reproducing the same inequities.

That's one of two infill housing projects on the same block!
The 15-minute walkshed of City Hall can easily be home to a couple thousand more people
Adams Park Trail alignment per Trails Atlanta maps. ~$13mil estimate.
Delowe slopes a fair amount on either side- I wonder if they’ll look to place southern end of the trail on the golf course instead of adjacent the street.
Venetian’s comparatively flat & wide = easier design.
Forgot I took a photo of the new housing coming across from Atlanta City Hall a few weeks ago:
Adams Park Trail community meeting 3/24 @ 6 PM w/ ATLDOT 👀
For those who may not know, Adams Park has some LOVELY homes, “lake” with boardwalk, swimming pool, tennis courts, baseball fields, rec center, golf course…
I’ll be interested to see the trail design proposed.

$35mil O&M for buses would be +$250mil to date… but with lesser and comparable service… and bus network redesign moving forward (not sure if total # of buses running in CoA is decreasing or not. Presumably yes…) I also find that cost suspect.
MM also should not cover in town bus services in full, either capital, O, or M.
It’s a shared cost with our other full penny and other revenues.
But the big $ sink that wasn’t planned for is 5PT and wherever that undocumented $$$ is.
Only station enhancements was originally on the project list approved, est at $125mil total… not 5PT explicitly an additional $200mil.
The transformation wasn’t funded & approved. Only the rehabs as categorized along w/ Vine City & Bankhead.
Add in Five Points wasn’t even on the original project list nor asked in survey as a priority yet somehow getting $200mil from MM…
Even that $200 paid out + $50mil gap on Summerhill is $100+ mil short of that $760mil accrual figure.
Only More MARTA projects they’ve “delivered” so far are increased bus frequencies, that fell below status quo during COVID & this shouldn’t have been covered by MM.
O&M couldn’t have been spent on anything else, including existing streetcar…
$ earmarked to support “expansion”…
Here’s the Billion Dollar question:
- If Atlanta raised over $760 million in 1/2 penny sales taxes since 2017,
- MARTA reports only $169 million in More MARTA expenditures,
- & MARTA ICEO Hunt says ~$230 million in reserves…
Where is the additional $330 million? 🤨

Finally some traffic we can believe in!!!
