Colleen Healey sent me a photo of this #EmpressofIreland pin that her grandmother Evaleen McClellan gave her. She was 4 when she sailed to Canada from Ireland in 1912 & settled in Alberta. Two years later the Empress sank claiming more passenger lives than the Titanic

Remembrance Day: Tracey Harley Archer Tracey Harley Archer survived the sinking of the Empress of Ireland in 1914 and two years later, enlisted in WW1.

Remembering Tracey Harley Archer, a driver with the 14th Brigade Canadian Field Artillery service. He shipped out to France in August 1917 and survived a shot to the head the following year. Archer moved to Vancouver from Regina in 1937 and died at age 86: evelazarus.com/remembrance-... #ww1
