RFK Jr. cited something, and the congress person kept saying how it wasn’t coming up when he asked chatgpt, and then a bit later he interrupted to say he’d found it and read a quote from the study back at RFK Jr.

Such a circus, and The People are the ones being clowned 😒

I didn’t catch who this congress person was, if anyone knows or has a clip of it, I’d like to be able to get a citation of this as an example. 🤔

It seems that the federal government is already using AI for American business and it doesn’t sound like there’s adequate rules in place to prevent harm being done by relying on this emerging, unproven tech.

Listening to this hearing while folding laundry and it’s not making me feel better about things in the US.

It’s kinda making me feel much more pessimistic 😰

RFK JR saying that the health department has been pushing for AI into all the things the most, with maybe the CIA being the other department that comes close to how much they’re integrating AI into everything.

Watching a congress person say they can’t find a source for something by using ChatGPT during a hearing is embarrassing for the United States.

They want to take a $2 twinkle from people who don’t have personal chefs or partners to cook every meal for them.

How much do they waste playing whack-a-mole with these petty rules about what people should or shouldn’t eat, instead of supporting a logistics system that ensures access and equity?

I suspect either they or their buddies personally profit off of every hoop they want people to jump through to access social safety nets.

Instead of focusing on what you can deny people on snap from getting, start focusing on supplying the things that people need.

And FFS stop taking little treats away from people living in tough times. 🤬

This is kinda wild: The federal prison system is telling staff they can't get free meals at the mess hall anymore bc apparently they were doing it so much it was cutting into the food they needed to feed the prisoners.

TIL you can divide its roots when it’s not flowering to encourage it to cover a bit more area and have room for more flowers to come up. I’m hopeful to eventually get a patch that’s a bit bigger than this one currently is.

People hear that and they make a whole lot of assumptions which are quite often very incorrect for a given individual.

There’s people who still think it’s only something people get from military service or that everyone who experiences it will be triggered by fireworks.

I am generally pretty upfront about adhd, although apparently there are people who ‘don’t believe in it’ which is really weird. 🙃

But I usually hesitate to bring up ptsd specifically because that has even more misinformation and stereotypes that tends to cause more issues than it solves.

If you get all your opinions about the world from pop media or friends & family with super similar worldviews as your own, your perception of the meaning of words & concepts is going to be deeply skewed, (and pretty flawed), especially when relating to people outside that paradigm.

“We refuse to allow nazi ideology or hate speech to have a voice on our platform,” is such a low bar for a company or business or organization to clear.

If they can’t do that, I feel like it says a lot about their priorities. 😒

It’s cool that they came up with a single little word — “agentic” — and you immediately know whatever they are talking about is simultaneously bad for individuals, society, technology and the environment all at the same time. you don’t have to pay attention to anything surrounding that one word!
