Tegan did an amazing job exploring live fuel moisture dynamics in common Intermountain West US shrubs and extending the mechanistic LFMC model to provide inputs for QuicFIRE, a CFD-based fire behavior model. This work can be applied to any shrub worldwide.

The area burned in the Canadian 2025 fire season has hit 5 million ha. Third active fire season in a row that combined has burned 7% of the Canadian forest. Currently we have 346 fires out of control (192 monitored out of control (OC) and 154 OC that are being actioned) so expect the number to rise.
Does your research involve fire and shrub fuels? ๐ฅ๐ฟ

The Association for Fire Ecology is an international organization dedicated to improving the knowledge and use of fire in land management. We are scientists, educators, students, managers, practitioners, policymakers, and interested citizens helping to shape the emerging profession and growing field of fire ecology.

Yeah, this is an AWESOME reference. I'll probably use it on Monday for something we are working on. Thanks for sharing....
