I forgot this app existed. Hi.
I thought it was Bruce Jenner
World is a horror show yet again, but I wanted to highlight this Defenders story I wrote for the new Marvel: Black, White, & Blood and Guts #4.
In particular, I added a shout out to @cgolden.bsky.social & @briankeene.bsky.social whose Defenders Dialogue podcast got me back into the team.
Librarians deserve more love, more notice, and more respect.
Thrilled to see this @raforall.bsky.social

I looooove The Start of Something!
A dark and stormy night! The perfect time to remind you of my awards-eligible for 2025: short story The Start of Something in Weird Horror 11; an essay in @raforall.bsky.social's Why I Love Horror; and The Butcher's Daughter, co-written with Corinne Leigh Clark. www.daviddemchuk.com/eligible-2025

Well-deserved
The Best Non-Fiction Award Winner is Queer as Folklore: the Hidden Queer History of Myths and Monsters by Sacha Coward.
We’re 2 pledges away from $11,000. That’s gonna make a lot of puzzles.

If you missed Westport Library’s STORYFEST this weekend (like I did) they taped all the panels. Just listened to @raforall.bsky.social’s Why I Love Horror and @datlow.bsky.social’s Night & Day panels. Fantastic thoughts from some of the best & brightest in horror fiction. youtube.com/@westportlib...
SALEM'S LOT turns 50 as of today. Didn't know until my pal (and co-writer) Rich Chizmar told me.
While making the IT movies, Andy and Barbara Muschietti had a lot of questions about Pennywise's origins.
Even Stephen King admitted ... he didn't know all the answers.
Here's how their new HBO series IT: Welcome to Derry fills in the blanks 🎈

Also, buying direct doubles the royalty and I'd love to send the contributors a holiday check in December hint hint...
Book cover for THE COOK by Harry Kressing
Today's $2.99 Kindle deal! A mouth-watering blend of delicious black humor and Kafkaesque horror story, THE COOK (1965) is a dark fable "beginning in a vein of innocent fairy tale and ending with satanic revels" (The Observer). www.amazon.com/Cook-Valanco...
If you've fallen in love with @michaelwehunt.bsky.social's THE OCTOBER FILM HAUNT, let me recommend THE INCONSOLABLES.

Truly iconic.
This is why I am no longer allowed to pre-order any books. I almost always ordering twice in that window of time… sometimes three.
