Hi @moreincommonuk.bsky.social @luketryl.bsky.social - could you clarify what is meant by the high/middle/low scenarios in this report? Assume turnout?

Feel like this misses a big part of the picture of why young ppl feel like this which is housing costs relative to pay. It's not just a perception gap - people's disposable income is being demolished by high rent and high house prices, even if technically their salaries are higher.

The war on Iran has laid bare our overreliance on fossil fuels, but North Sea drilling is not the answer – clean energy is.

Drilling in the North Sea won’t make energy cheaper, despite what Badenoch or Farage say, because the price of gas is set by international markets. [1/2]

The wonderful world of the British political-media ecosystem, where you can hold entire events about trends you've made up and which experts - who are crucially not invited - have debunked multiple times.

"Previous research has shown adults walking or cycling are 14% more likely to die in a collision when the car involved is an SUV; children are 77% more likely. For children under 9, the risk of fatality is three times higher if struck by an SUV."

Just ban these killing machines.

I don't think calling the people who voted for the nice woman who thinks working hard should grant you a decent life unhinged extremists is going to work out brilliantly for Labour.

Showing exactly why voters in Gorton and Denton rejected him tonight

HOPE WINS @greenpartyhan.bsky.social

People-power has sailed the Greens to victory. This is proof that when we get organised, we win.

A vision of a world where everyone can thrive is more powerful than the far right’s hatred and division.

And far more popular.

Why everyone (who isn't Reform) should be hoping for a Green win in Gorton & Denton Tomorrow's by-election in Gorton & Denton will be huge - and everyone should be paying attention. If you can't be bothered to read on, what I will say up top is I think it's vital that the Greens win ...

Left it very late, but I finally wrote up my thoughts on tomorrow's Gorton & Denton by-election and why everyone should be hoping for a Green win.

It's a LinkedIn post (🤮) because I'm the only person on here without a Substack.

Don’t know how many more examples it’s going to take for people to realize that billionaires are an existential threat to democracy and its institutions.

Now that Israel has admitted the Gaza death toll is accurate, don’t let apologists move the goalposts | Ben Reiff Having rubbished the health ministry’s figures, they are now saying what matters is the civilian-to-militant ratio. See that for what it is, says Ben Reiff, deputy editor at +972

Poll Shows Massive Participation in Minnesota Shutdown Against ICE 1 in four Minnesota voters took part in January 23 day of action, or had a loved one who did.

A new poll finds that 1 in 4 Minnesota voters took part in the Jan 23 shutdown against ICE, or have a loved one who did. Of those, 38% DID NOT WORK, either because they made the choice to stay out, or their workplaces closed. By me, @thomasbirm.bsky.social, @bloomekatz.bsky.social

Just started doing new data analysis and I know I keep saying this, but: I really, really don't think people appreciate how much this moral panic was a deliberate and extremely expensive invention.

Jenrick defection probably the dumbest thing he could have done. He could have been the top race science guy in the tory party, but now he's going to be a run-of-the-mill race science guy who needs to impress guys who believe a secret sect of Brown people control the traffic lights

Imagine having leaders who believe their job isn't running for office merely for the sake of having their name plate on a door but actually enacting an agenda.

It is happening with zero scrutiny. The government will not push back. The broadcasters will not interrogate. It is unbelievable how easily it is all sliding away.

BREAKING: We're outside Parliament with cross-party MPs ahead of #Budget2026 to ask - Rachel Reeves, why won't you tax their wealth?

If this govt refuses to tax the super-rich tomorrow they are making a huge mistake.

BREAKING: 80+ young people are outside the Treasury right now to tell Rachel Reeves: make tax the super-rich PAY UP - or step down.

This Budget, it's time for Reeves to pick a side: us or the billionaires.

For wealth taxes to fund investment in a better future.
