There’s always an assumption that low nos of children with SEND at a school means they’ve been turned away or kicked out: it could mean that some of these schools have inclusion right & so more children don’t need different from/additional to what’s universally on offer. /1

Today was a day of two halves...eldest had a meltdown due to unexpected change of plans and lots of being prodded (hospital visit!). Horrible for them. Then lovely festive Afternoon Tea with my husband when they were happily back at school.

I had a HORRIBLE time at school. I had a 32.5hr Statement (old school EHCP) with a 1:1 velcro T.A from age 9 until A'levels. I hated every moment of it. I'm so very passionate about getting SEND right in schools so no other child has to feel that way. #EduSEND #SENDsky #inclusion #autism #adhd

Heyyyyyy!!! I moved into primary 7 years ago after 15 years in secondary (there was a few years of working in both at the same time!). Primary schools at Christmas.....woah!

Only neurotypicals seem to say things like 'I can be a bit on the spectrum' as an excuse for bad conduct.
Besides, autists not being empathetic has been somewhat debunked. Studies show some autists simply don't know how to *express* the empathy they feel. Also: many autists suffer from hyper-empathy
