@matjaz.bsky.social: "A system nobody controls is a system everyone finds difficult to change."

Yes!
It's usually easier to break a system than it is to control it. And this is a clue to why so many "reform" proposals for government fail so badly.

What is driving this exodus? I don’t think Twitter is any different than it has been for the last half a year or so.

Interesting that there doesn’t seem to be a drug that makes you feel specifically cozy.

When you type a Tweet or equivalent who do you imagine it being addressed to?

Isn’t the bottom line people want content so they’ll get it in some channel on way or another?

What asks do you think most people are not making but should be?

Isn’t it interesting that this is a truth we’re not able to handle? That our bodies are mostly food processing.

The biggest question raised by the coronation is what things other that might seem more convincing are actually equally fake.

I didn’t realise Bluesky is a Merkle tree based app.

(Found out about it yesterday in response to my question during AMA by @xychelsea.tv )

Bell inequality (Nobel Prize 2022) is often seen as a bunch of impenetrable math. But really it's no more complicated than the idea it's difficult to agree a lot with Democrats and Republicans simultaneously.

When people make those hierarchies of subjects with math at the top and sociology on the bottom you can obtain the hierarchy of what kind of knowledge brings you most power by just turning that hierarchy on its head.

I find the fact people remain responsive to suggestions the most fascinating aspect of it. Sort of makes me really curious about hypnosis.

Might be too broad but when facing many options for things you could do, each with very unclear returns/consequences how do you pick the one to focus on?

Twilight anaesthesia is one of the most fascinating states of consciousness and it seems really difficult to Google up much about it.

Any sufficiently small social network is indistinguishable from a group chat.

I read somewhere social networks are like clubs and when one gets lame/boring another sprouts up to take its place.

I also read about some networks having strong black-hole-like network effects that nothing can escape.

Here to get to the bottom of this.
