“It’s key to understand they work in probabilities, not absolute truths”

Sure, but the probabilities are of certain words being found near other words.

Don’t confuse that with the probability of a certain set of symptoms/data being a given disease.

Those are completely different things.

People doing that will often quietly unfollow you again a week or so later so their ratio makes them look “important”. It’s all a bit sad.

That’s a good tip for UK English (thanks!) but the problem is US English doesn’t do the verb/noun differentiation, and chooses the s or c variant for both seemingly at random eg in US it’s always license .. practice .. (never licence or practise).

Not in US English: practise doesn’t exist. That’s the thing I forgot because it’s inconsistent: Defense is with an s (always c in UK) practise/ce (UK) always with a c in US. License/ce (UK) always with an s in US.

The practise / practice pairs get me. I know American English doesn’t have one of them but I can never remember which without looking it up.

If you close your eyes and imagine it, it looks just like the real thing.

There’s a small bush somewhere you can stand behind and put it automatic grenade fire & it’ll kill anyone who comes near you. We left it running for hours like that.

Can’t find any mention of this online weirdly.

I wonder if they do this when people tell them where they’re going on holiday.

“Spain? Oh I’m not going there.”
