In February 1777, General George Washington ordered the first mass immunization campaign in American history by mandating that his troops be inoculated against smallpox. He protected the Continental Army from an epidemic that was deadlier than British forces.

249 years later, we have this idiot.

There really is no such thing as race. We all came from Africa. We are all of the same stardust. We are all going to live and die on the same planet, a Pale Blue Dot in the vastness of space. We have to work together.

Coachella is removing these videos, so they might be about to learn about the Strokesand Effect.

Starmer had a very successful career outside politics and is surely unique in rising to the top in two different professions. Love him or loathe him that takes talent and hard work. What a shame our media seem to hate him for it or is it because he won't play their games or let them set his agenda.

Sympathies. Just had fried egg and hash browns! Oh and um, er, isn't any of that pizza left, by any chance?

Honestly, Boris Johnson didn't pass security and became prime minister. Keir is not the same. No way the tories got this much aggro over Boris. Stinks of right wing media. Agree not great but no way should Kier resign.

At one time, back in the 80s, post the Elton John £1m settlement from The Sun I had 13 writs. Colleagues had similar. Then the Mirror Group legal department started to counter-sue. They all went away, funny that.

Some sources are saying he's simply sent a 'letter before action' he'd certainly have to in the UK. Besides, filing a suit is cheap, quick and easy. And makes a quick headline. It will quietly die and be 'no further action' in a few weeks IMHO. I speak as a former national newspaper journalist.

I think he threatens to sue would be more accurate. He can't/won't risk discovery and FBI witnesses testifying under oath!

Labour MPs need to realise this isn’t about getting rid of Starmer it’s about destabilising the Labour govt and getting rid of all of you .. for Nigel and his mates ! The media have been on overdrive on this since July 24 .. it’s the latest attempt but not the last !

Today I turn 89. I’ve seen this country at its best and its worst, and I know how much community matters. For my birthday, I’m asking you to stand with PFLAG and support the work that’s helped so many in the LGBTQ+ community, including me. give.pflag.org/page/95493/d...

Might be considered a SLAPP variation in the US and his position as a public figure adds further complexity. Funnily enough I think he'll be able to command some good advice on both sides of the Atlantic!

Precisely, which is why very few get to court. If the news outlet hasn't a defence or its defence is weak/has fragilities most night lawyers will advise settlement so no huge legal fees for complainant, as would be the case here.

I used a bike rack this weekend that exists because I complained about it not existing.

You can make things better, even just a little.

Excellent speech from PM Keir Starmer who has clearly been let down by some members of his backroom staff.

Starmer MUST NOT resign over this - people are using the #Mandelson issue to score political points.

Stand Firm Sir Keir #IStandWithStarmer

Um, I take it, unlike me, a fully-trained and qualified (by the NCTJ) journalist you are an expert in the 1888 Law of Libel (Amendment) Act?

Starmer won't sue now as a sitting PM. But once he has retired he will make millions in settlements from the media. Only modern former PM to make money ethically, post serving?

Video

Worth a few minutes of your time to watch these videos of the PM giving the facts and the timeline of events around Mandelson.

Don't listen to cherry picked parts with added opinions from comentators.

Listen to the PM himself.

The people who keep Scotland running deserve better." At the very bottom, a dark blue bar contains a "Reform UK" logo with a red "prohibited" circle and slash over it, followed by the slogan: "NOT REFORM. NOT IN SCOTLAND."
