Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social, is absolutely tanking. The company burned through over $700 million dollars while bringing in just $3.7 million in revenue.

It merged with a nuclear fusion firm, bought a bunch of bitcoin, floated a spin-off of Truth Social. None of it has worked.

"Anti Media Media: A Normative Approach to Media Positionality", now openaccess in The International Journal of Communication, offers an alternative approach, based on four criteria: facticity, loyalty, plurality, & solidarity, to assess media, their societal contributions & potential harms.

🗞️ How useful is the term “partisan media”, if it piles together outlets like the NYT and Fox News? Why do media charts focus on bias rather than approach to facts or hate speech? And how to counter the populist manipulation of *the facade of journalism* to disguise propaganda machines as news?
