Isn’t it funny how your full signals change?

I would probably recommend adding a solid protein ie: a chicken breast and treat the pasta as a side.

I’m over 2 years out and pasta is still really hard for me with the stomach capacity. The answer is: it depends. If you’re within the first year and you’re really watching your sugar, you may want to make your own. Farther out? Make your life easy and hit up the jar.

I was the same way. I couldn’t get through my requirements fast enough. The insurance company required 3 months of monitored dieting before they’d approve but I was off caffeine and carbonation and ready to go!

Congratulations on that stellar loss! The metabolic changes from the surgery make a lot of those lifestyle changes possible but ultimately, succeeding in taking the weight off and keeping it off is the result of your hard work and decision to change your lifestyle.

On the flip side, an overreliance on BMI also classifies a large swath of people as obese who really aren’t. Athletes are notoriously mos classified by BMI and considering the prevalence of eating disorders it’s probably a good idea to have a more nuanced assessment.

It gets better Sam! When I was going through it (VSG in 2022) I would think of some things I missed eating and found bariatric friendly swaps. Last night we had Big Mac salad and it scratched a couple of itches.

Pretty much! I actually think that experience makes me more relatable for my clients and helps me understand how they’re thinking and feeling. Little G

Bariatric surgery and committing to a healthy lifestyle was the best decision I ever made. The girl who used to find any excuse to get out of gym class is now a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach 🤯
