Our movement is growing and we're proud to receive the endorsements of Gov. @mikiesherrill.bsky.social and Senators @corybooker.com @andykimnj.bsky.social. Unifying as Democrats is more critical than ever before to fight for our nation's futures and narrow the GOP margin in Congress. Let's win this!

Just shows how much AI has assimilated into our lives unfortuately ๐
I am not even kidding but I've been searching for the original MS of a story with "gaslight" in the title and file explorer says there never was one.
Face verification? How the hell will that even work if a woman looks way younger than her age? Like some women who are in their 30s look 13
Happy birthday Ron!
I got a question yalls in the #bookcommunity
is there a gender neutral term for "master?" I'm thinking of just keeping it as master since one of my mcs calls their mentor (a woman) master. Even though it's technically a male term. Should I keep it as "master?"

I was writimg what people expected fantasy/sci fi ex. Vikings, white characters, etc
Wasnt really telling us much at all. But I was really connected to my two brown characters ๐
But aftrr that realization I started ploughing through my drafts ๐
Yeahhh
Inwas really strugglimg with my book (fantady at the time) because I was writing for white people. Then I came across an interview by Apunva and she was talking about how she gave herself permission to write brown and a light bulb came on.
I realized I wasnt writimg for myself.
Life = same different day
Faith = the world was populated by one guy on a raft
Religion = hippie died on a cross for our sins
More or less?
Buddhism is just a way of life you can be a Christian Buddhist Jewish Bhuddist Hindu Bhuddist. I think Usurla K Le Guin was Bhuddist. My nanima was until she changed to Sikhism. I forget the exact Sikh she was but she followed a Guru (not one the 12).
One thing I domt see much in sci/fan is a main pov from a non white ex. brown character. Most brown characters are either hot exptic woman that the white main character won or they're scientist comic reliefs or somethimg.
I wanna explore second gen brown characters in my writing
I'm agnostic ๐
But I feel like I do kinda follow the Sikh lessons of service but I dont reallybfeel like I need religion in order to be a good human.
I'm vegan lol
My next sci fi series is actually gonna be very brown. The main character is a second generation Sikh ๐ฅฐ But shes also Arabic.
I'm readimg my sister's favorite author Jhumpa Lahiri

I wanted to get into my culture a lot more. I kinda bad that I disregarded my roots and then I eventually came across you and Apavra! And I learned some my history from your interviews and then I eventually started readimg more brown voices and doimg some things with my step mom.amd my boss was
I'm Punjabi too :) but I was never taught. I can understand Punjabi and Hindi at times but not well.enough to completely follow. I watch Bollywood movies ever so often but I have always identified as Indian. I had the typical second gen Indian white washed but once I hit my late 20s

generative AI has become widely available in the summer of 2022 and entered mainstream in 2023
people are working themselves up in a frenzy, convinced they're utterly helpless without software younger than still-fresh canned tuna. we have been making art for at least 50,000 years, get a grip

Oh big point I forgot to mention in my experience with using AI:
AI will shower you with praise. It say such-and-such idea is basically groundbreaking. It will side with you and tell you basically everything you wanna hear.
"I think eating shit great!"
"Oh wow, Curran! That's an amazing take!"
I fear for my sister. AI brain rot is real.
Is writing without AI slower? Yeah. But it's about the journey not the destination. I do all my research now myself. I write everything myself. I have bought a lot of nonfiction for my sci-fi research and I go off that. But I'm in the process of trying to make my friend stop using AI ๐
I didn't realize it can be addictive though. I watched a video about this guy who had something called AI-pscyhosis. I don't think I ever had that though. Cause AI is pretty fucking garbage for writing your book is what I've noticed. It's okay-ish for brainstorming but even that is sus
