... of having to initiate and facilitate this conversation themselves, and just make "no gen AI to be used" a principle from the get go
... spaces where it isn't and it's been so sincerely disheartening to me to see people in spaces that are meant to be about learning and developing your own creativity just go "I'll ask ChatGPT what to write here" etc) but *please* if you're running events, save your participants the stress...
... and a principle of the event. I was told about people's experiences of colleagues and collaborators putting *their work/words* into gen AI systems and them feeling unable to formally object or stop it.

I co-ran an Immersive Makers Jam on Monday, and one of the things I said at the top of the day, to everyone, was that it was a no-AI event: generative AI was not to be used for the process or the end product.
Participants spoke to me after about their relief at this being made explicit...

A man told me yesterday that it was important to "take emotion out of the equation“ when analysing the situation in the US, at which point I told him very calmly that "a woman who disagrees with you is not necessarily emotional".
