#ewgc Just started Evelyn Clarke ENDING WRITES ITSELF (V E Schwab/Cat Clarke collaboration) with writers lured to a remote Scottish island competing to write the final chapter of a bestselling author’s final work. Definitely intrigued!

Day 10 #LibFaves25 pick is Susie Dent’s GUILTY BY DEFINITION. Martha returns to Oxford as senior editor of a prestigious dictionary only to be confronted by a series of cryptic letters referring to the disappearance of her sister 10 years ago. My favorite mystery this year!

Day 9 #LibFaves25 pick: Sarah Beth Durst’s ENCHANTED GREENHOUSE. Released from enchantment for illegal use of sorcery, Terlu finds herself stranded on a snowy island with only a grumpy gardener for company. When the magical greenhouses need help, can she find a way to give it? Charming & delightful

Day 8 pick #LibFaves25 Nora Roberts’ SEVEN RINGS. Roberts is always a comfort read for me, and this is a satisfying conclusion to one of her best trilogies. Terrific Maine setting, characters I’d like to be able to meet, and imaginative use of the paranormal. Loved this one

Day 7 pick: #LibFaves25 Val McDermid’s SILENT BONES. When heavy rains uncover bones buried at the side of a highway, they turn out to belong to a journalist believed to have fled after murdering his girlfriend. Who killed him? Did he really commit murder? Karen Pirie’s cold case squad investigates

Day 6 #LibFaves25 Alyson Richman’s THE MISSING PAGES. Harry Widener tragically died on the Titanic, having gone back to his cabin to retrieve a treasured book. Years later a young woman dealing with her own loss notices ghostly goings on in the library Harry’s mother built in his memory.

Today’s #LibFaves25 pick: Stacey Abrams’ CODED JUSTICE. Avery Keene, now an investigator for a high powered law firm, investigates suspicious deaths at a tech company using AI for health care. A page turning thriller that also raises thoughtful ethical questions

Day 4 #LibFaves25 pick is Connie Berry’s A GRAVE DECEPTION. When archaeologists ask antiques expert Kate Hamilton to investigate artifacts found in a recently unearthed grave her efforts unexpectedly link up with much more modern murders. A fine addition to an excellent series

#LibFaves25 My day 3 pick: Robert Jackson Bennett’s A DROP OF CORRUPTION. Ana Dolabra and Din Kol are back, investigating a dead body that disappears from a locked room. Think Holmes and Watson in a wonderfully imagined fantasy world.

#LibFaves25 My day 2 pick is Amanda Bouchet’s BENEATH THE BURNING SEA. I’ve enjoyed Bouchet’s Kingmaker Chronicles since the beginning and this one was no letdown with two warriors fighting their attraction to one another while on a quest to save Atlantis & avert war among the gods
