End of thread 🧵💞 if you got this far I hope you enjoyed, it was my first time doing something like this!
1. BIRDS OF A FEATHER - Billie Eilish 🥇
Subjectively it wasn’t my SOTY but when I listen to it I understand why it’s such a huge hit. Very addictive and soothing, and her voice on top of this - all comes together to make an unforgettable hit for decades.
2. Von Dutch - Charli xcx 🥈
The chorus is extraordinary, I was GAGGED when I first heard it. Very fresh, very brat. This is like drvgs hidden in a song. Unreal.
3. Make You Mine - Madison Beer 🥉
YES MADISON, this is your sound!!! This is pure perfection from start to finish, huge SOTY contender for me. Synths, melody, her voice - all amazing.
4. That’s So True - Gracie Abrams
I’m not a fan of her and I didn’t like TSOU but this song my god.. pure nostalgia vibes, so simple yet it works so perfectly, her voice fits so well here too, I can’t imagine someone else singing it. And the drums… Well done, Gracie.
5. Disease - Lady Gaga
This song is what I wanted from her for a long time. Dark, mystic and dirty. High volume recommended while listening to it, makes it 10x better.
6. WILDFLOWER - Billie Eilish
A sleeper hit and I also discovered it recently. The background vocals are out of this world, Billie truly outdid herself on this album in every aspect. Probably the most emotional song on this list.
7. obsessed - Olivia Rodrigo
This is pure jealousy rock Olivia and that’s how I like her best. Everything in this song works as intended.
8. Die With A Smile - Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars
Outstanding performance by both artists on this song. Great songwriting, amazing bridge. Bonus points for the song’s length.
9. imperfect for you - Ariana Grande
I love every thing about this song. The idea of going off key in a song is so original, especially done by THE Ariana Grande. Beautiful song.
10. 365 - Charli xcx
BRAT is for sure in my top 3 albums this year and this song proves it deserves the spot, it makes you wanna dance, sing along and vibe all night. A. G. COOKED.
11. New Woman (feat. ROSALÍA) - LISA
I wasn’t so sure about this song at first but it grew sooo much on me it was on repeat for a week or so. They fit together so well and the production is amazing.
12. Lights On - Normani
Another one from DOPAMINE! I really love this for the way this song flows, the repetitions in the chorus are absolutely gorgeous.
13. symptom of life - WILLOW
This one is a bit unfitting to the rest but the vibes are unmatched, her voice is angelic and the melody is top-tier. Had to be here.
14. Aquamarine - Addison Rae
Who would’ve thought Addison can slay like that? This gives me cunty, confident, summer vibes. Chef’s kiss.
15. Cry for Me - Magdalena Bay
This whole album ate but my fav is this one. The beginning itself sends me into another orbit.
16. Hålla mig - Molly Sandén
That might be my fav song by the swedish hit-maker. Sounds very 2024, modern and fresh, with a very catchy chorus
17. Espresso - Sabrina Carpenter
Ofc it’s a smash this year and a great song, but it’s low because I think it sounds a bit generic after all
18. Insomnia - Normani
I’m really sad Normani flopped with this album because it’s great and deserves sm more, this song is so fun and vibey, great rnb
19. Forever - Loreen
Energetic, ethereal, fresh. Mother had to be included in this list
20. HISS - Megan Thee Stallion
This song is screaming SAVAGE and her game is unmatched, fire bars left and right
My top 20 best songs of 2024, a thread 🧵
