a “ceasefire” that lasted 17 hours and killed 254 people in lebanon is not a ceasefire and referring to it as one is inaccurate

Seems to me that the only cure is powerful and vigilant regulators (ACCC, ASIC, etc.), with broad public support and scrutiny.

The idea that these companies might voluntarily adopt truthfulness in advertising seems highly fanciful. History suggests that the trend goes the other way (as noted). I (partly) attribute this to the increasingly short term incentives of the c-suite.

Treasury figures reveal $18 billion capital gains windfall for Australia’s richest 10 per cent The latest tax expenditure figures released on Friday by the Treasury department show this financial year the richest 10 percent of Australians will receive $18bn worth of tax breaks from the capital ...

The richest 10% of Australian households get more money from the capital gains tax discount than the government spends on Jobseeker, the childcare subsidy, government schools or higher education - nearly $4.5bn more than it would cost to include dental in Medicare.

This is an astonishing thing to delete. On what grounds was it complained about, other than being actively opposed to reconciliation and actively support of hate and bigotry?

Treating animals with antibiotics is a very, very bad idea (unless it's for a individual animal who is sick) and especiallyin a marine environment. This is absolutely appalling. Do not buy Tasmanian salmon. Ever. To the politicians who supported this industry- You were so wrong.

They know the climate chaos coming, they know their decision will make it worse, and kill any hope of mitigation, but they did it anyway - for their own benefit.
Not a principle among them.

Single frame. Image: horizon line, river of red flows from left to right; PM Albanese stands beside looking. Text from above left:
“The 1948 UN Genocide Convention, adopted in the wake of the mass murder of Jews by Nazi Germany, requires all countries to act to prevent and stop genocide.
The world’s biggest academic association of genocide scholars has passed a resolution, with 86% declaring Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza to be genocide.
Where is our red line?”

It's now on record Labor is spending more on consultants than Morrison. Is this the same party boasting about its savings on consultants & commitment to cultural change? Data shows Labor spent nearly $1 billion on contracts in 24-25 & already $76.5 mil in 25-26. 🧵

Jon displays qualities of humility and self reflection, which sadly disqualify him from the role🙄

It’s a fun idea to consider, but then I remember when he interviewed his nemesis Donald Rumsfeld, who dominated the interview by interjecting with semantics and points of order bullshit. Jon was too polite and I dare say intimidated.

“He again reiterated to me, what he has said publicly as well, which is to be in denial about the consequences that are occurring for innocent ppl”💥
