#OtD 2 Apr 1969 several Black Panthers were arrested in raids across NYC. 21 were charged with conspiracy to murder police and bomb shops & trains based on false testimony from undercover agents. After NY's longest trial all were acquitted. More here: shop.workingclasshistory.com/collections/...

On this day in 1969, Fred Hampton was assassinated by Chicago police during a raid on his apartment. Drugged by an FBI informant, he was shot and killed while asleep.

Despite his murder, his vision and work continue to show us what true liberation can be.
