It is slow. I love gaming so that's one of the reasons I enjoyed it. Have watched all Yang Yang's gaming series. Didn't watch Go Go Squid & got bored with Flourishing Peony. We all have tastes that cross & divide.

I can't imagine her stronger! Adore her character in the series. One of the reasons I prefer K & C drama to film & television in the West is precisely the restraint. Sex at first sight is mind-numbing tedium. Hands touching by accident & The Kiss for peak thrill is 🌟

Next best would be #YouareMyGlory with Yang Yang (some people don't like his restrained acting style but I do). Slow moving life-affirming slice of life story about a famous actress & a rocket scientist. I don't remember any bad guys so no suspense. Enjoyed for a change of pace.

Definitely #TheKingsWoman, her best yet, also Vin Zhang's (ML). The two of them tend to choose poor and/or silly scripts that don't show their true abilities. Mind you, the degree to which I found myself rooting for a damaged abusive man - no doubt because he's gorgeous - took me by surprise.

I was struck when you said the book was better because I thought, nah, not possible; but I see now what you mean Though the prose, albeit acceptable unlike Prisoner of Beauty book, is nothing to write home about, it's definitely a stronger story. Him so cold & arrogant at the beginning fits 🌟

I'm just at the beginning. The writing is plain but the story is powerful. I actually prefer the coldness & arrogance. Makes more sense given his background & upbringing. Wonder why the screenwriters decided to make him warmer almost immediately. Cold CEO vibe has never turned viewers off.
