Labours of Liberation: Resourcing Feminist Activism in 1970s Bristol Abstract. This article uses a case study of Bristol Women’s Liberation Movement (WLM) to interrogate the bureaucratic, administrative and material logistic

I have a new article in @historyworkshop.org.uk that explores the resourcing of feminist activism in the 1970s. Come for the rants about typing, stay for the study of jumble sales as feminist praxis! 🗃️

Yes there’s some scholarship on Irish anti-nuclear movements and their involvement in non-proliferation diplomacy but I’m struggling to find anything on culture or social history.

Working on a q&a lecture for a class today: The story of robots is always a story about slavery. The story of LLMs labeled as AI is a story about class, and which humans pay the cost, including the physical toll on their bodies/minds, and the lack of water and electricity, so data centers can exist.

Happy gotcha day to my best boy. Two years ago he was sad, sick, and scared. Now he’s a round, happy, and chaotic tiny criminal. It’s the redemption arc we all deserve.

I see the University of York is offering a fixed-term post in public history for the same salary (£37k) I earned for a fixed-term post in public history, also in Yorkshire, in 2012. Had the rate risen with inflation it would now be £53k.

She never lived to see this moment, but it’s worth remembering that none of this would have happened without Virginia Giuffre.

She had the courage to speak out against power and privilege when it was just her word against Andrew’s.

Thanks to her, justice & accountability may finally have its day.
