the greatest studio show ever and it'll never be topped.
Do what you will with this information :^)
Wilson Bethel steals every scene he's in, and that's hard to do with Charlie Cox as a scene partner. Really enjoying it.
full guarantee Orban loses his ass now
“autocracy makes you brittle, blind and ultimately vulnerable to democracy’s return: The strongman creates a skill issue for himself”
i will vote for any candidate who offers up this slogan
A series of posts from journalist Mark Chadbourn reporting on the acceptance speech of Péter Magyar after Hungarian elections: Péter Magyar: "Our country wants to live again. It wants to be a European country again." Mark Chadbourn• @chadbourn.bsky.social • 24m Magyar's speech is powered. From a contact in the audience: "He's basically just asked all the puppets, all the supreme justices, all the heads of media, all the heads of the ministries to leave their jobs tomorrow and not wait to be fired." •.. Mark Chadbourn• @chadbourn.bsky.social • 20m Magyar says he's starting work with the EU and NATO immediately. "The EU doesn't have to worry anymore."
From new Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar's acceptance speech tonight. This is the absolute BARE MINIMUM platform for any Democrat running for President in 2028.
"young men are learning to cook for themselves while trying to be healthy on a budget and the best they can do right now is get ok at rice and ground meat" that's being 22 years old. The remaining WaPo staff thinking that's both demeaning and how most dogs eat is the story.
I hope you'll understand that the only way to keep bad and useless shit out of your life is to shoot it in the head the minute it walks in
Rick Steves fuckin' rules.
I miss the days where politics in Star Trek didn’t matter, like going to Planet Everyone Dies in a Race War, Planet Cold War Proxies, Planet of Gods Who End War, Giant Tube of Death That Is A Stand In For Nukes, and Planet Nazi.
star trek, the original series: this is about liberalism/civil rights/the cold war
star trek, the next generation: History Has Ended for us but not everyone else, and we have to manage that tension
star trek, DS9: the postcolonial aftermath of a war of national liberation is messy and complex
why do the Romulans have pointy ears? So that “Balance of Terror” can be about the dual loyalty slander of Spock.
technically the first photon torpedo
GUY BARFING FROM PAIN: aaaaugh
HIS TEAMMATE: dude check it out. everybody online loves how hard you got hit in the nuts with that baseball
Your quiet rendition of "Mexican Radio/Jelly Roll" this week genuinely made my day.
As a side note, I am extremely tired of a handful of Seattle World Cup games being used as excuses for all kinds of permanent policy decisions, including the installation of dozens of new cameras all around the city's stadiums. It's harder to turn off the surveillance state once you've built it.
Can we get those dumbasses with the kalshi shirts outta there?
This production is agonizing
This whole Bert Kreisher (i don't care to look it up) shit suuuuuuuuuuuuucks
Gimme baseball!
There's a specific tone of cheer when a guy and his bros realize a complicated low-stakes scheme is going to work. It's the sound of dudes rocking and it's the most beautiful sound in the world.
Goldman Sachs reports that 300 million full-time jobs could be replaced by AI by 2030. Labor turnover is high and hiring has slowed. 71% of Americans worry that AI will cause permanent job loss. As young people about to enter the workforce for the first time, the fear of unemployment is understandable, but we cannot save ourselves with the very tool that is putting us at risk. The irony is that as Penn pours endless money and energy into AI advancement in its attempt to get ahead, the University is only quickening its own demise. AI cannot coexist with education — it can only degrade it. As technology advances and workers are replaced by machines, schools are some of the only places we have left to explore and wrestle with human thought. With our own university leading the charge, AI is now corrupting those few sacred spaces and leaving us with nowhere to engage in true scholarship. Editorials represent the majority view of members of The Daily Pennsylvanian Editorial Board who meet regularly to discuss issues relevant to the Penn community. This body is led by Editorial Board Chair Jack Lakis and is entirely separate from the newsroom. Questions or comments should be directed to letters@thedp.com.
An unaccounted for part of the economy is how much young people virulently hate AI, despite how aggressively it's being forced on them. They realize it's making their friends dumber and ruining the world and they want nothing to do with it.

It takes one cross-country plane, a train, a ferry, then another hour or so by car to reach the writer Lindy West. I had read plenty about how remote her home is, but only by sitting shotgun with West in her girlfriend’s maroon Hyundai Elantra did I understand just how far she was from even a gas station. When I had asked, weeks before my arrival, if I could take an Uber to her house near Bainbridge Island, Washington, from Seattle’s Amtrak station, she laughed at me.* I’ve been thinking a lot about this cabin in the woods since I read her new memoir, Adult Braces: Driving Myself Sane, which came out this week. It is the homestead for West’s polyamorous relationship, the news of which went modestly viral in 2022. Today just West is at home—well, she and her dog, Barold “Barry” Saxophone.
This is an insane way to describe Bainbridge Island.
semi regular reminder that the Mueller, She Wrote grifter used her COVID payroll assistance loan on a swimming pool and then never paid it back

adam smith fucking sucks but he's right on this, 100%
“You are an abolitionist, ain’t you?” “As to that, I cannot so readily answer. If by abolitionist you mean a zealot, I am none; but if you mean a man, who, being a man, feels for all men, slaves included, and by any lawful act, opposed to nobody’s interest, and therefore, rousing nobody’s enmity, would willingly abolish suffering (supposing it, in its degree, to exist) from among mankind, irrespective of color, then am I what you say.” “Picked and prudent sentiments. You are the moderate man, the invaluable understrapper of the wicked man. You, the moderate man, may be used for wrong, but are useless for right.”
