Playstreets are ace for drinking tea and chatting while all the kids form a feral mob having a water fight.

I need to respond to a consultation and agree to the principle but feel it will very much depend on the detail of the design and implementation.
Can anyone point me to any recent guidance/research on best practice for the design of the ramps onto raised tables at junctions?
How high? Is 75mm enough - it seems small? Any details about the slope and transitions? It’s in a 20mph limit where speeding is frequent.

This mornings bike bus in Worcester - really amazing weather for the summit.
If you want to email in support of keeping the 20mph limits on residential roads across the highlands now is a good time to do it! Consultation closes in n 10th Feb.
Public consultation on the Highlands 20mph speed limits is open- they are great for cyclists - but not just cyclists…

I remember the forced watching of the queens speech (always at my grandmothers house because we didn’t have a television). Seemed like it went on for ages but nowhere near 2 hours, and it was after lunch so you were full and tired.
Road sign of the day….
Followed by a really vicious speed bump.
Also coffee creamer is an abomination against humanity.
I read about of course, it but it’s hard to comprehend unless you’ve been.
Inverness is really not that big - if there was good cycle infrastructure and more frequent busses then it’d be the ultimate 15 min city…
If I’m road riding (especially in a group) I’d tend to go on the road so I guess I’m probably biased. And we’re usually wanting to go faster than the general flow of a cycle lane.
Exactly - would I let my 8 yo cycle independently on it, and could it be navigated easily by someone on an adapted hand cycle are my 2 gold standard tests for bike lanes.
Also, I still don’t get why they don’t have kettles.
Ok, it’s the first time I’ve been to the states, and I appreciate it’s only for a night, but it’s wild. I don’t think I’d quite appreciated how much traffic there was, how big the trucks are and how few pavements are here are!
It’s traditional for you to shout ‘were you born in a barn?’ at them when they do it #TurningIntoMyMother
This happened in Inverness - retailers convinced that reducing through traffic and increasing space for pedestrians would harm business, but in fact the opposite would have been true.
Often because the traders drive themselves so are a bit oblivious to other modes of transport!
It’s the last couple of days voting in the TGo reader awards - Capsized (featuring me and every body outdoors) has been nominated in the film/filmmaker category…..

So - it seems hidden in the budget, there have been some pretty big tax changes for pick-up trucks. It’s being portrayed as bad news for farmers, but removing tax breaks for large heavy vehicles also has benefits from r society at large.

So, changing from cycling content - but last year I was in a film about canoeing and plus size activism and being outdoors.
We’ll be on tour at the end of November - Inverness, Edinburgh, Gateshead, Hathersage, Kingston and Bristol - come along!

Just a photo of a play street in Inverness to say hello!
