Manufacturers don't optimize for cheap, they optimize for profit.

Why do you just not understand that people buy cars based on what they want, not need?

Many people buy only what they need, but many don't.

In what comment did I ever give the impression that Americans *needed* a big car? You are arguing against a straw man.

Do you just not grasp the concept that consumers already have the choice to buy something smaller, but they still don't?

What other countries choose to buy is irrelevant. No one is arguing they are a need.

And no, I don't have a truck.

Your argument lacks merit because it's based on the incorrect assumption that large vehicles are "pointless." Not understanding why other people buy them, and why manufacturers continue to make them, shows inadequate knowledge of the market.

Not being popular in other countries is irrelevant.

This clown makes assumptions and assertions about other people that are incorrect.

Manufacturers are not going to stop making large cars as long as they are profitable. There is consumer demand.

Your assertion they are "pointless" shows a lack of emotional intelligence, the inability to understand others value things differently than you.

Thanks, captain obvious. When consumers in the country change their buying habits overnight, that could work.

Until then, saying something should be a different way is just magical thinking.

Those are all very reasonable things to do.

The consensus here seems to be that planning for the fact that large cars exist is giving them priority. It's not.

So you just don't understand why roads need to be wide enough to make room for bike lanes and large cars?

Reasonable to make sure a 1000 year old city can still accommodate an ambulance.

While that's factually accurate, do you think a responsible city planner will all of a sudden make changes that mean the current fleet can't pass?

I'm guessing you like emergency vehicles being able to get to where they are needed, right?

Do they tend to be big or small?

2 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

Cool, let's have a discussion about why you are wrong.

Walkable Cities need to make sure the SUVs that exist don't clobber pedestrians. Cities are safer when emergency vehicles can actually get to people in need.

Tunnel vision leads to dumb comments.

100% agreed that the US is way too car focused.

If roads aren't wide enough to accommodate large vehicles, they drive into bike lanes or pose danger to pedestrians and small vehicles.

Good policy can plan for where we should be, but it also has to acknowledge current reality. Large cars exist.

No, not a troll.

I'm not saying prioritize large vehicles. Policies have to take them into account, or it harms everyone else.

This is why the damage will last for generations. Ousting him and holding the corrupt administration is not enough.

Multiple administrations will be needed just to start undoing the harm.

I remained shocked people don't understand accommodating big cars benefits everyone. Planning for the extremes of big vehicles means they are less likely to kill you.

Support better public transportation, EVs, smaller cars, safer cities for biking. Do all of those things.

I read the comments and they're not saying what you think they are. They are pointing out that there is legitimate quality on YT, no virtue of their own even implied.

Your post just makes you seem out of the loop.

Just another source of content. It's crazy to me you didn't know you can watch actual TV shows on YouTube. Crazier if you did know and still find it crazy people watch it like a TV.

I hate that it's newsworthy when an official comes out and says what we all already assumed.

We knew his reason for the docs was financial gain.
We knew he was a pedo involved with Epstein.
We knew he violates the Constitution.

Time for consequences.

Funny how the people who whine about tax dollars going to feed children are the same people who are okay with tax dollars going to blow children up. The "pro-life" crowd.

Remember, calling Christian Nationalists "Nazis" is perfectly acceptable.

If they don't want to be called Nazis, they should stop acting like them.

Nothing rosy about it. Only asserting that ousting horrible appointees is harm reduction.

I don't believe Congress will grow a spine. Brief pauses between shitty appointees is the reality today.
