One of my pet peeves about DS9 is using "changeling" to mean "shapeshifter." That's not what it is. This makes it really complicated when I have to explain to people about how the fae folk swapped out my son

honestly just realized that with "rumors that the heir apparent is secretly a changeling boost the succession chances of a prince living in foreign lands" we're speed running the glorious revolution, let's goooooooo

an extremely crazy photomontage proving that "traitor" princess kate was never pregnant and never had cancer. there's a lot of intense closeups on william and kate's eyes as well as those of their kids. don't worry about it

If I was PM of a G7 country, I think the part of the job I'd enjoy most would be pretending that the bilateral partnership with Luxembourg is very important

In my new film THE MINION CANNOT HEAR THE FALCONER, we'll explore the way in which the emergence of 20th century ideologies fractured the once-cohesively evil Minion society into competing fascist and communist blocs that soon come to blows over which form of totalitarianism will shape their future.

anyway a weird contingent thing about the USSR's breakup is that yeltsin simultaneously worked to take over the central gov't but also devolve power to the republics bc that helped him in the short term as a republican leader, with disastrous results

a crackpot theory of mine is that russian, ukrainian, and belarusan leaders probably saw the CIS as a potentially closer confederation or at least trade area than it ended up being but the other republics almost all signed on which had the effect of kind of diluting what it could be

i actually do think the divorce of russia and ukraine in particular was genuinely economically devastating when it happened for probably no good reason, not that that's any reason to try to reverse it in 2022 (or 2014 or whatever)

The conservative intelligentsia is just wildly, cartoonistly racist, and the fact that this gets less elite pushback from the prestige media/commentariat than "woke" does is such a damning indictment of our whole society.

posting the bad airport opinions of notorious twitter centrist asshole josh barro on the bsky dot app website but shaking my head so people know i disagree

it doesn't help if you and the bad opinion guy are both named josh

everyone knows that going viral on this app (like going viral on any app) sucks. but did you know it especially sucks when you're posting in a reply that you expect nobody to see about an opinion that you disagree with, and then it goes viral and everyone yells as if it's your opinion
