PineTime Pro will be a bigger, faster, more capable open source smartwatch More than six years after Pine64 introduced a cheap smartwatch designed to run open source firmware, the company is preparing to launch a new model. The PineTime Pro isn't a replacement for the original PineTime (which is still available for $27). But it brings a bunch of upgrades that could make it a better platform for users that want a better screen or support for more complex software.

Gentoo Linux Begins Codeberg Migration In Moving Away From GitHub, Avoiding Copilot The Gentoo Linux project last year announced plans to move their code hosting to Codeberg rather than GitHub. Gentoo's desire to move away from GitHub was motivated by Microsoft's Copilot training on GitHub repositories. Those plans are turning into action now with the main Gentoo project up on Codeberg and honoring pull requests...

My DIY low-power 6 SSD NAS based on the Quartz64 ARM board ARM SBCs have been around for a few years now. They were made popular and accessible mostly by the RaspberryPi released in 2012. I’ve been enjoying building countless projects around these boards : we...

I moved my #Pine64 #quartz64 NAS to my #minirack !

I designed (using #FreeCAD) a 100% custom shelf for the power supply, the SATA controller and the SBC and 3D printed it.

This is the first time I design a 3D model! I don't even own a 3D printer! It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the result!

I've just installed "generic" #Fedora 42 workstation on my #OrangePi5+ thanks to #EDK2 and it works very well out of the box (display, GPU, Ethernet, USB).

How come this thing is not more widely used? This is the user experience I would like to see on more ARM SBCs!

In 1983, Philips produced the first FM radio receiver on a chip, leading to products such as the FM radio wristwatch. Let's look at the tiny silicon die inside this chip and see how it works. 1/N
