Amazing! `path-length` coming to CSS. github.com/w3c/svgwg/is...
Thanks for submitting, @nerdy.dev! It’s so cool to see a feature request from 6+ years ago start making its way into spec.
fixed!

ZING! 😂
my goals are to have a more chill life/week, but what i keep doing is giving myself more work lol
i'm overwhelmed but trying to stay open minded 😅
new props just also need tests, docs, etc
but it's tracked! i can let you know if i give more attention to new features and unblock your adoption
lol, its 3 but lol
fight too many styles. but this update has hover, focus, transitions and all sorts of stuff that would need overwritten if someone wanted to fully customize. so it's already deviating from it's initial intended simplicity…
not sure how many props i wanna maintain 😅
the scope so far has just been, pick a CSS color. i did the gamut boundary work because i dont like how other gamut boundaries a shown (transparent, grayed out, weird shapes that didnt fill the canvas area, etc)
the original was also quite plain so folks customizing it didnt have to…
here was a variant i was toying with, you can see the lines there for contrast as well as all the gamut boundary lines. was a bit much…
yeah, the inline aspect is more clean cut, tracking it here github.com/argyleink/cs...
passing in font size and contrast color so the lines are relevant to your specific tool tho… a bit more niche
i also dont have an embeddable version that exists not in the popup…
sounds like, for you to adopt this component into that tool you showed (which does control font size and color), you'd like all 3 contrast boundaries drawn as well as an inline render mode yeah?
i'm not going to add UI so you can specify a color to contrast against, or UI so you can set a font size… sounds like another tools job to me
Gamut stretching! Which I felt is very helpful because picking inside the dinky triangles does not feel like you’re getting exciting colors and felt like there was so much color I was missing out on
A per row canvas operation to stretch into the rectangle
Like an embeddable non-popup version? Down to log that feature request in GitHub?
I had them on there for a little bit! But removed them in favor of the values and info at the bottom right (new), since the lines felt like clutter and only represented one
But maybe!? Make a case about something I missed?
i'm trying to keep it lightweight, but color is gnar
quick video tour of what's new
Try the latest <color-input> concept:
⚓️ anchor() progressive enhancement
🤖 workers for color compute
🙈 new animations & interactions
🎨 gamut boundaries, mapping, stretching
☯️ contrast scores
& much more
