porting games is hard man

turns out the whole game over sequence is borked, and there's supposed to be video file played there that just isnt included in the source code

so i found a version of the og game with the fmvs, ripped them, converted them, and now they're in (relatively) high quality :D

I *think* the ratchet remasters do have true widescreen
and the sly remasters also have a (very sloppy) true widescreen

the ps3 remasters don't have true widescreen, they just use the ps2 one
very unfortunately
with the Jak games, you can set the ps3 settings to use 4:3 and it will work
with god of war, it's always cropped widescreen, and setting the ps3 to 4:3 will letterbox it!
horrible..

a lot of first party ps2 games have fake widescreen that crop the vertical fov, it's horrible
stuff like the GOW games, Jak, Ratchet, and others
it's not limited to just first party either
I always make sure to check if a widescreen option is real or not before rolling with it
