Stock features feel like stock features.
For anything that touches a unique design element for a game, the built-in version isn't going to be adequate.
Additionally a lot of built-in features are not past demo quality and need a lot more work to be shippable.

I would definitely say Fatal Frame games are 'shooters' while 'Umurangi Generation' is an immersive sim, with 'Pokemon Snap' being in-between.
Technically if your video game has visuals you're always shooting a camera.
A cozy bridge?
Making is a great joy for me.
All the parts, less so.
Apparently I'm not allowed inside.
How dare they build a place that isn't for me.

Weird Splatoon has it but only for LAN play?
The first thing that comes to mind is DotA2 but that's older than 10 years. I guess streaming reduced the desire for it?
I see some connections to path that filmmaking has taken when the 'Studio System' failed and looking at how major AAA+ game publishers are currently all on the precipice of decline.

Good luck!
It's a perfectly normal project.
I've been writing code since the 80s and the part where you mess up and then figure it out is the entire point.

Even the "Ready Player One" trailer was less embarrassing.
We're only a few hours into Pokopia but my hot take is:
I hope the humans don't come back.
My child requested Pokemon themed food to celebrate the release of Pokemon Pokopia today.

Even if GenAI was viable (doubt) it won't solve the actual issues and problems faced by product development.
When it comes to live services games people are treating them like a 'sprint' and pulling the plug in weeks when they should recognize they are more of a...um...err... [long amount of running thing]
Looking forward to trying this with Gameshare CoOp on Thursday with the kid.
