40 years ago, I was thoroughly enjoying Epyx' brilliant multi-event cold-climate sports spectacular, Winter Games. It continued the series' tradition of unusual but very entertaining events, all articulated via absolutely top-tier audiovisuals, and all extremely fun to play.

The cover of Byte, the Small Systems Journal, for April 1981. In it, a Robert Tinney piece depicts a small bezeled computer on a man's steel wristwatch; the tiny QUERTY keyboard and four side function keys fit on the face, while the micro-CRT reads, "INSERT DISK". Two fingers gingerly load the 5 1/4mm diskette into the side of the wristwatch.

An image titled "Recurisve Panda", with a picture of a waving panda labeled 'Panda' in the bottom left, and an image of the page "Recursive Panda" in the top right. The caption reads: "Figure . Recursive Panda. This picture, in which a panda appears recursively, is created by drawing the panda with a graphics editor that generates Postscript output and then adjusting the resulting Postscript code. The idea is borrowed from an example given by Reid."
