They’ve laid off so many people that the government is now getting its economic data from DoorDash.

Listening to these pathetic rationalizations from King, Hassan, Shaheen, whoever else they have queued up.

Disappointed that they're not having windup speech by Sen. Neville Chamberlain.

Listening to these 8 Dem Senators explain their vote convinces me that they are either idiots or liars. Either is plausible.

Imagine possessing both the arrogance and incompetence of Dick Durbin.

We understand how the Senate works, dude. That's the fucking problem.

“In science there are no ‘depths’; there is surface everywhere” The Vienna Circle was by all accounts a motley crew. As their manifesto states, “not one of the members [is] a so-called ‘pure’ philosopher; all of them have done work in a special field of science”. ...

The Vienna Circle was not that coherent politically, but its one consistent theme is hostility to populism: "While positivism was ultimately unsuccessful as an antidote against metaphysics, it remains valuable as an antidote against anti-scientific politics." www.oxonianreview.com/articles/in-...

Ireland just elected a notorious antisemite, and an unapologetic supporter of terror groups as their new president. The world seems to be going down the extreme left & extreme right drains. Silver lining: most people didn’t vote or spoiled their vote.

Well, one is a very hard right conservative and the other one is an extreme antisemite leftist and openly supporter of terror groups. So I am not sure there’s much to celebrate.

I am still completely flabbergasted about what NYC is about to do by electing this individual.

For those who quickly aligned themselves with one side because the most rabid antisemitism of the past 2 years has come from the extreme-left: told you so! Soon the extreme-right would do the same. Because both extremes are the same: both have historically fueled themselves with antisemitism.

I wonder if the cyclist even respected Stop signs. There is an epidemic in Austin of cyclists blowing through Stop signs.

Trump's ending the $800 duty-free exemption on Friday but customs hasn't told postal services how to actually collect the tariffs. Germany and Singapore just said forget it and stopped shipping packages to the US entirely.

Economists: Trump’s New Tariff Rules Will Fuel Inflation Economists from the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research explain the impact of Trump's tariff policy.

New piece in TIME this morning with Adam Shaw on tomorrow's closure of the de minimis exemption, which will raise tariffs on shipments under $800.

We write that the decision compounds one bad policy with another under the misguided notion that two wrongs make a right.

Mexico just announced they are stopping packages being mailed to the US. Let’s see if people finally wake up when they realize they (we) won’t be able to order a lot of things.

And BTW, US manufacturing employment has fallen to new depths under Trump (see charts below on both absolute level and as share of total non-farm employment).

Opinion | Trump’s Trade Representative: Why We Remade the Global Order

US deindustrialization was not result of trade deficits. It can no longer be reversed. Tariffs/investment promises will not do much for manufacturing. Bretton Woods was a global agreement not an extortion racket. Other than that, nothing wrong with this piece. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/07/o...

If Hamas freed all the hostages they still have and surrendered their arms and power the war would be over in that exact minute. Curiously, not a single person who posts these things demands anything of that terrorist group, they only blame Israel.
