The horde version of this quest was raptors?! Man i feel gipped that o did the alliance version and it was just all the same cat.

You actually do not earn pet xp in battle pet PvP matches.
You do have a 1/80 winning matches drop chance for a family-specific leveling stone that will give... 2-3ish levels. Leveling stones are not counted in this weekly buff and also not available anywhere in Midnight except through drop % pvp.

Maybe I'm missing something.
But where in all of Midnight can I earn Battle Pet XP?
