Ahhh what a nice tattoo that is!

It’s so shlocky but I just love it. I’ve probably watched it all the way through *at least* two dozen times!
protip: clean to the Initial D soundtrack, because it is physically impossible to go slow* and be demotivated when listening to eurobeat
*this is also why Initial D is banned from my car stereo
y’all ever get possessed by a tiny spirit that just yells “IT’S TIME TO CLEAN EVERYTHING” or is it just me
You know what to do.
Fascism will find a reason.
Good reminder here, folks - if you know anybody demonized by society or on the fringes for any reason, no you don’t. Don’t out your friends. Don’t air dirty laundry. Don’t talk about it. Don’t gossip. Period.
Man, I dunno. Sometimes you just have to be up really early and stare at trees for a while.
Check in with your loved ones from time to time. Make sure they’re okay. You can’t fix the whole world, but you can hold the hand of the person beside you for a little while. That can be enough. That can mean everything.
Pastina. Boil little pasta shapes (I like alphabet noodles) in good chicken stock/bone broth with a little butter and black pepper until very soft. Whisk in an egg if you like. Take off heat. Grate in Parmesan and stir.
Great for when you’re really not okay, but need to eat anyway.
HARD AGREE
I mean, The Soulforged? Come onnnn. On repeat forever.
This morning’s walking playlist very much sponsored by the genre “nerd metal for teens who read too much.” (ie: stuff that had a deathgrip on me at 17.)
Gotta say, Blind Guardian’s “A Night at the Opera” and “Nightfall in Middle Earth” albums still hold up for me 100%.
Yeahhh, I know your feelings about the evil eggs. ;)
Never had it on rice, but I’ll definitely try that!
Shakshouka. Onions, peppers, garlic in a pan. Cook down. Add a can of diced tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt. Cook down. Make wells in the sauce and crack in 5-6 eggs. Sprinkle feta, cilantro, parsley on top. Cover. Cook until eggs are poached. Serve with bread.
Oh, I love art like this. The 17th century was full of whimsy and kitsch. Don’t be fooled by the unsmiling portraits in black.
Oh, that sounds incredibly cool! I definitely want to know all about THAT!
Tune of the day, with lyrics from the William Blake poem of the same name. I really love Cosmo Sheldrake. I listen to this song a lot a lot.
as usual, Mariella says it most succinctly
That’s the fella! His brother was also found partially consumed, as I recall.
The Dutch ate a politician one time. Just putting it out there.
Does that city obviously have shit to work on? Yes. Is this a statement of hope more than a statement of fact? Also yes. But it shows a willingness to try, and by God, that is a wonderful thing that should be celebrated.
Hell yeah, Saskatoon.
“She’d learned to obey instructions not to look the passengers in the eyes, not to greet them or ask about their well-being.”
Fuck me.
If there’s a God, He’s sleeping
Hell yeah!
okay listen I don’t often go for anime anymore, but I am full-on recommending Frieren to anyone with even the vaguest interest in the fantasy genre - a surprisingly touching series focusing on the themes of life’s meaning, love across the passage of time, nostalgia, and loss
