both.. i learned a trick when making gyoza and translated it to pierogies- put them, frozen, in a nonstick skillet.. add about three TBSP of, both, water and oil.. cover.. bring up the temp till the liquid is bubbling.. boil off the water then let them crisp up in the oil

heh heh.. the helmet shots were our first session in a crappy studio.. she was a trooper then and now.. my fave session was in the crumbled building, some smoke.. the 'I'm a toy' sign.. cant wait to work w/ her again

wish i did.. Anna was one model who never wanted it to be photographed, so the images that show it are rare but also far more natural and unplanned so, far more innocent (?)

migrated her galleries and added a couple more.. miss that sweater, it was a fave back then.. disappeared I dont even know when.. thankfully, my wife is a knitter and i get snug winter wooly warmth when needed (she gets when she wants.. i have to *need* ;) )

i wish Alicia (shot in a strip club, new west) was around.. shes off grid. If the Calgary girl has blue hair, shes... eccentric so wont be showing up again but- if its Dakota (blonde.. absolutey radiates).. soon. Once i get back to Calgary to work on The Boat.. we'll be shooting again (cant wait)

i also knew a shooter that did that.. when i was starting out, i hoped i would be able to work with my models many times at many different points in their lives.. mobility, on my part, and relocations has usurped that hope/ dream.. but there is always chances.. as i've said with Anna.. also Teal

i've always found.. a smidgen of shyness tends to bring real emotions to the fore.. also, working with 'real' models- from what i've found- they tend to have a harder time exuding real emotions

definitely hard to find... i'll have to check whats posted against the negatives.. she was awesome and shy that first session

thanks.. she was a free spirit and lived accordingly :) so much to add to the site, and so much of her material was only shot on film (the warehouse/ yellow dress was digital, shortly after getting my 'new- to- me' D100.. wow, time flies ;) )

behind the scenes view of filming in East Vancouver. This production being 'Supernatural' with Jenson Ackles and Dean Winchester.. and the rest of the circus... the filming took place on an empty lot between E. Hastings and E. Cordova, on the Hastings side of the alley that my studio backed on to. beside the lot, camera right, is the famed Smilin' Buddha Cafe, made famous by the band 54:40, their album of the same name.. the original marquee emblazoned on the album cover.. but, stories abounded as Brad Lambert moved in upstairs.. a renouned drummer in Vancouver who played with the Real Mackenzies and other bands.. and regaled us with tales of old punks and the cafe.
