Viktor Orban accomplished so much of what the Trump movement wants to accomplish here

he ruled for 16 years and rewrote the rules in his favor

and still, they threw him out

and you know what? they did it by voting

don’t let anyone tell you voting doesn’t matter

The Artemis II crew just reported several impact flashes—explosions from hypervelocity impacts of meteoroids with the Moon—during the solar eclipse.

We make a big effort to see a handful of these from Earth with telescopes.

That astronauts flying by the Moon saw >4 in tens of minutes is AWESOME.

And now we wait: 40 minute loss of signal as the crew goes behind the moon.

a very chill and even and fair take on this morning's deceptive quoting of Weir.

it can be hard to dial back to a proportionate response after someone deliberately manipulated you into having a stronger one, which makes it even harder to calibrate valid critique b/c social media is all or nothing.

If you think No Kings is too vague or insufficiently radical, I sincerely encourage you to go to your local No Kings rally tomorrow and hand out flyers/zines to recruit folks to your org/cause. It's a perfect recruitment event! Thousands of people eager to DO STUFF! Get out there!

We cannot normalize ICE inserting itself into our daily lives.

Here is a reminder: ICE agents do not belong at airports. ICE agents do not belong at polling stations. ICE agents do not belong undermining our rights and hurting our communities.

So, um... this is bad. Really bad. I looked at the letters that were translated by the AI, and the very first one I found was almost entirely hallucination. Thread:

These are valuable facilities they’ll be guarding, and I certainly hope they’ve fixed the problem of using a wifi jammer to kill their cameras’ connection to the security feeds, one person flipping it with a pole and another then pulling up and back on the battery handle on the now exposed belly.

A complete set of canonical nucleobases in the carbonaceous asteroid (162173) Ryugu - Nature Astronomy Samples returned from the asteroid Ryugu contain all five canonical nucleobases (A, G, C, T and U). Their presence in Ryugu and Bennu supports the hypothesis that carbonaceous asteroids contributed to the prebiotic chemical inventory of early Earth.

I read the “Save America Act,” so you don’t have to. Most of the media apparently *hasn’t* read it because, if they had, they would be sounding the alarm about the provision in Point 1, below, which almost none of them have even mentioned. I hope this summary helps raise awareness. 1/

"The day of accountability will come": Rep. Delia Ramirez on abolishing and prosecuting DHS The Handbasket spoke with the congresswoman who called out ICE long before it was popular.

NEW — I spoke with Rep. Delia Ramirez (@ramirez.house.gov) about her calling DHS leaders "inheritors of the Klan hood and the slave patrol," the prospect of one day seeing them behind bars, and what it's like to see the public [finally] embrace her long-held dream to abolish ICE.

Painting. A pale-skinned woman with dark brown hair heaped in a neo-Classical-looking ornate style, decorated with bejewelled butterflies and natural-shaped gold. She sits against a dark background, butterflies fluttering around her; her dress is Virgin-Mary blue but slipping off her shoulders. From behind her peeps a glowing heron. Two fox cups sit on her lap, one dozing and the other putting up a trusting paw to her chest. She also holds a bitten pomegranate in a hand decked with a heavy emerald ring. Aye, there's a woman sits by the lake on Valentine's Day you can ask about love if you like. She'll mostly tell you how she loves the world rather than who you'll marry, but it's good advice nonetheless.
