Honestly, it would be interesting to look into sites that *have* fallen off to see what factors contributed and which of those camel back-breaking straws is most likely for Twitter.

The vicious cycle of people thinking BlueSky is inactive, causing people to shift away from it, making it relatively inactive, making people think [and loop].

I do hope Twitter finally gets a more permanent loss of users. Like you mention, I'm not sure what would be that tipping point (if any).

It’s really a shame people still keep believing BlueSky is dead because like I see so many MORE artists then ever before and they’re always underrated or their art isn’t recognized because people keep avoiding BlueSky :/

Of course, this is all speculation. I'd love to hear if there's been a study on this. Although, the struggle is that there is such randomness to the other factors in how a post performs on social media. I imagine it'd be hard to gather scientifically satisfying data.

I'd compare this to when something scary is left unseen, and so the viewer imagines something worse than anything that could ever be shown, or when something is left a mystery, so the audience fills the hole with their favorite headcanon that they'd naturally like more than the true answer.
