💫We are excited to introduce our new AIM Future Leaders! They have already got stuck in supporting our practitioners at our online inclusive choir rehearsals and we are looking forward to them sharing their ideas at our next trustee meeting in a couple of weeks!

💫 It was wonderful to find out this week that Leeds University Union Music Society (LUUMS) have chosen AIM as one of their supported charities for the 25-26 academic year.
💫 They will be organising fundraising events and activities to raise money throughout the year. 😊👍🎶

She completed her undergraduate degree in Music and Music Psychology last year, and is currently completing an MA in Music and Wellbeing. Her two year position as president of the university’s community music volunteering society (LUUMIC) saw the development of her skillset as a practitioner, and a special interest in working with the elderly, and young people with SEND. With LUUMIC, she has delivered music sessions in care homes and hospices, and collaborates with various charities in the Leeds area. Facilitated by AIM, she has been running interactive music sessions for children with SEND at the charity Moor Time. To support this work, she has completed an introductory training session into the Sounds of Intent Framework with YAMSEN. Kalila has also been attending the weekly AIM choirs run by Karen and Georgie, often contributing by leading the hello song, or running the warm up. After graduating, she intends to pursue a career in delivering community music programs, and specialist music education for young people with SEND. “I am passionate about the therapeutic potential of music, and believe that people of all ages and abilities should have the opportunity for meaningful music participation to support their wellbeing, and musical development.”

💫 Warren was awarded his 2nd Trinity College London Sounds of Intent musical development qualification at the beginning of this year (entry 3) after completing his first qualification in June last year (entry 2).
💫 This week we celebrated our online inclusive choir turning 4!
💫 Our inclusive choir member Warren has been part of this group since we started the choir in 2021 and it has been wonderful to see how his confidence has grown and musical ability has developed.
💫 We are looking forward to our birthday themed online choir rehearsal later to celebrate our 4th birthday! 😊🤩🎂
