The first tv series that shot up here, using mostly North East actors. It remains one of the few series to showcase my accent and history, without which I don’t think we’d have Auf wiedersehen Pet or the Catherine Cookson series ( where, like many, I had my first major role)
Oh me too, I’ve switched off Siri ( can’t be having with an ai that’s gets into a huff every time I swear) and all the ai I can but it still seeps in sometimes

I don’t totally agree. The writing was pretty much on point apart from, as you say, the emphasis on background for the bad guys. I’m used to one writer for a series, I live in the uk, but they don’t usually run the show as well and perhaps a writers room would’ve helped here?
So sad to hear that Prunella Scales has died. I met her twice when she came up to teach at the actors centre in Newcastle. She didn’t have to come so far North but she was unfailingly kind and absolutely brilliant. I still remember her very helpful notes for me.💔
