What does the name Artemis have to do with optical links?
- #Artemis II mission used optical links to send images back to 🌍
- @esa.int's Artemis satellite made the first optical link between satellites 25 years ago
ESA's Hydron takes optical comms further, building the fibre network of the sky📶

During #Artemis II's Moon flyby there were around 40 minutes without contact back to Earth📶 🌍️
@esa.int 's Moonlight aims to fill this gap by deploying a constellation of communication and navigation satellites around the Moon to never lose connection when most needed 🌑

A stronger Europe is possible💪
IRIS2 will provide secure connectivity for governments across Europe. A very low orbital layer will be the sandbox to validate and experiment so the operational system can remain secure and resilient in the long run.
