I’m sorry but “the Pope is weak on crime” might be the most fundamentally weird thing I’ve ever read.

Hi, my name is Alex Goldman and I host the
@hyperfixedpod.bsky.social I used to host the Reply All podcast, and I have found that so many people who liked Reply All have no idea Hyperfixed exists. It's super frustrating because I have no idea how to reach those people.
You may not know @taskmaster.tv. It's hilarious & joyful. I begged to do it, worked out my schedule a year ahead of time to make it happen & got to do the best show on TV w/ the loveliest ppl. Ep 1 is out &, trust me, you need this joy. All seasons free on youtube.

Missed this earlier this week because I was traveling but I really loved this piece by Kathryn Xu on the nature of the strike zone (gift link): defector.com/what-is-a-st...

“american avignon papacy” coinciding with the wholescale dismantling of american higher ed is really like giving the academics one last great meal before putting them down

Earthset from Artemis II. I am overcome.
One of the problems with people not sharing things with attribution, AI etc is that we (rightly) don’t trust things that are real. This picture is making the rounds today and I’ve seen multiple ppl say it is fake. It isn’t!!!!

Jonathan India suddenly becoming a consistent power hitter was not on my Royals bingo card but I’m not mad about it…
I am not surprised by any of the kind of … poignancy a lot of people are finding in the Artemis II story. To me, it’s like talking to someone you love who you almost never get to see anymore. This is the kind of story I miss when every day makes me despair. How many more will we have?
The only way to begin is by beginning. And season 8 is beginning soon...

Listen I love Jupiter and everything. Saturn is outfuckingstanding!
But did y’all see us?!?! 🥰 I mean, we’re pretty good looking!
You don't really want this. So much of TV is changed and discovered in the process. No master plan survives 13 eps of production. Your actors' abilities and chemistry opens up story paths you never imagined. Other ideas sink like a lead balloon.
Master plans are overrated.

I had not considered them before! Any recipe or frozen recommendations?
(A quick google brought me to the Serious Eats recipe which seems both very chill and solid but open to suggestions.) www.seriouseats.com/extra-flaky-...
My wife was vegetarian for a while for digestive issue reasons and the Impossible spicy nuggets became indispensable as a "neither of us wants to really cook" dinner to have in the freezer.
Agreed. And the spicy version is particularly good.
Relatable. So embarrassing to try to talk when you’re muted on Zoom.

What a fucking shot holy shit

Rocket stage separation.
Core stage separation. 🔭 🧪
it’s just really beautiful (that core separation shot)
I went back to capture what the astronauts said in full when the clock was stopped at T-10 minutes and they were asked if they were go for launch:
This is Victor. We are going for our families.
This is Christina. We are going for our teammates.
This is Jeremy. We are going for all humanity.
It's good to be reminded these days that science, and scientists, still fucking rule. 🚀
Godspeed Artemis II!
T-10 minutes and it's a go. Time to watch!
