I’m sorry but “the Pope is weak on crime” might be the most fundamentally weird thing I’ve ever read.

Hi, my name is Alex Goldman and I host the
@hyperfixedpod.bsky.social I used to host the Reply All podcast, and I have found that so many people who liked Reply All have no idea Hyperfixed exists. It's super frustrating because I have no idea how to reach those people.

What Is A Strike | Defector Well, what is it? According to the official 2026 MLB rules, a strike—in isolation, absent swings and foul tips—is called when “any part of the ball passes through any part of the strike zone.” The strike zone is duly defined, in a long-winded and broadly unpunctuated phrase, as “that area over home plate the upper…

Missed this earlier this week because I was traveling but I really loved this piece by Kathryn Xu on the nature of the strike zone (gift link): defector.com/what-is-a-st...

From a Million Miles Away, NASA Camera Shows Moon Crossing Face of Earth - NASA A NASA camera aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite captured a unique view of the moon as it moved in front of the sunlit side of Earth

One of the problems with people not sharing things with attribution, AI etc is that we (rightly) don’t trust things that are real. This picture is making the rounds today and I’ve seen multiple ppl say it is fake. It isn’t!!!!

I am not surprised by any of the kind of … poignancy a lot of people are finding in the Artemis II story. To me, it’s like talking to someone you love who you almost never get to see anymore. This is the kind of story I miss when every day makes me despair. How many more will we have?

Listen I love Jupiter and everything. Saturn is outfuckingstanding!

But did y’all see us?!?! 🥰 I mean, we’re pretty good looking!

You don't really want this. So much of TV is changed and discovered in the process. No master plan survives 13 eps of production. Your actors' abilities and chemistry opens up story paths you never imagined. Other ideas sink like a lead balloon.

Master plans are overrated.

I had not considered them before! Any recipe or frozen recommendations?

My wife was vegetarian for a while for digestive issue reasons and the Impossible spicy nuggets became indispensable as a "neither of us wants to really cook" dinner to have in the freezer.

Agreed. And the spicy version is particularly good.

I went back to capture what the astronauts said in full when the clock was stopped at T-10 minutes and they were asked if they were go for launch:

This is Victor. We are going for our families.
This is Christina. We are going for our teammates.
This is Jeremy. We are going for all humanity.

For Now, ABS Makes Good Theater | Defector Even with all the testing data from the minor leagues and spring training, it was hard not to wonder how MLB’s new automated ball-strike challenge system would feel in big league games that count. Whe...

I may be biased, just because watching Salvador Perez embarrass umpires with regularity has been my favorite part of the start of the season, but this is the correct take on ABS so far:
