The shit I've been through would've broken a lesser person (also echo'd from my therapist).
Good thing I'm better than even I give myself credit for.
But I also need to better respect my own limits & work with them instead of against/through them.

It's really important to understand that empathy is NOT convenient. It is NOT always comfortable, if ever. It is vital for discernment. It IS important, especially when someone vocalizes their pain. Lean into being curious and UNDERSTAND them before pointing a finger at them.

I've encountered several people over the past few days who have thought it was safe enough to tell me that the half-time show was offensive and that Puerto Ricans need to "tone it down."

The only energy I'm giving people who lean into this idiocy is a swift block, because...haha, no.

Someone else's joy shouldn't be offensive - if it is, please do the inner-work to deconstruct whatever privilege makes one think others should deny themselves joy in order to be seen as palatable or proper.
