Lovely morning in Rishton with @sarahsmithlab.bsky.social and the Hyndburn Labour team.
A positive response for the hard working Cllr Bernard Dawson 🌹

Good to be back out on the doors in Burnage (in Gorton & Denton). Lots of support for the Labour team with Cllr Bev Craig
On April 6th Labour extended sick pay to more workers and removed the 3 day waiting period.
This is the result of a decade of campaigning from trade unions and civil society.
Good to celebrate with friends from the Safe Sick Pay Coalition.

Great evening listening to Labour members and voters in Haringey.
Lots of support for the brilliant Labour Haringey team. 🌹
Loved meeting residents at Birch Lea Park & seeing the new, social rent, independent living accommodation - even a pool table & hair salon!
Great to join Jonathan Reynolds in sunny Hattersley to see how the long term investment from the Labour council & partners is transforming the town. Now, they have £20m Pride in Place money just for Hattersley thanks to this Labour Government.
Through our Employment Rights Act, Labour are delivering a generational change to workers' rights. Because we know a strong and fair economy is built on decency and security in work.
Wishing everyone a very happy Easter!

Labour are on your side, making work and housing more secure, supporting families with free breakfast clubs and childcare, and lowering energy bills.
Reform voted against these things. Phoney Farage isn’t on your side.
We had a positive response in the doors - don’t believe what you read! And a few votes will decide some seats in these Senedd elections.
Enjoyed visiting South Wales today meeting members, councillors & Senedd candidates with Jess Morden, @ruthjoneslabour.bsky.social & @alexdaviesjones.bsky.social in Newport & Pontypridd.
👶 Up to 30 hours of paid for childcare – saving up to £7,500
🥣 Free breakfast clubs – saving families up to £450
📄 Day one paternity rights and strengthened statutory sick pay - paid from day one of illness with the minimum earnings threshold removed.
Here’s what’s changing:
⚡ Around £117 off average energy bills
💷 4% Pay rise for 2.7 million workers – up to £900-£1500 a year more
💰 State Pension up 4.8%
👨👩👧 Two-child limit scrapped – more support for young families
This month Labour are putting more money in your pocket to help with the cost of living and are boosting workers rights.
Labour Values in Action 🌹
At Labour's local election launch yesterday, I spoke about our Labour values in action across the country, making our communities even better.
3️⃣ And on Sunday at Manchester Labour’s campaign launch with @andyburnham.bsky.social & @bevcraig.bsky.social talking about the real difference Labour are making to people's lives in Manchester.
2️⃣ Addressing @andrew-western.bsky.social's fundraiser with Labour Asians Society on Saturday.
Busy weekend campaigning and listening to members across the country:
1️⃣Out on the doors speaking to residents in Birmingham on Friday with John Cotton, @richardparkerwm.bsky.social and the Labour team.
Great to join Andy MacNae MP and members in Rossendale and Darwen @rossendalelabour.bsky.social for an online Lucy Listens event this evening talking about putting our shared Labour values into action and tackling Reform’s politics of hate and division.
Continuing my Lucy Listens drive in Fife yesterday - listening to members and talking to voters.
Great to support our fantastic candidate @clairebakermsp.bsky.social in Kirkcaldy, and other candidates including Afifa Khanam as well as @richardbakermp.bsky.social. Thanks all!
Great to be with colleagues in sunny Edinburgh.
The choice in Scotland is clear, new leadership with @anassarwar.bsky.social or more failure from the SNP.
This failed Tory experiment has punished innocent children and cost us all in lost opportunity and lower life chances. Labour is putting our values into action lifting children out of poverty. Reform and the Tories would reinstate the cap and push children back below the poverty line. 2/2
Labour governments lift children out of poverty. 450,000 children will benefit from our choice to scrap the two child benefit cap, with those with the broadest shoulders paying a fairer share to cover the cost. 1/2
Today’s £310million investment shows how the Labour government is working with Labour locally, delivering for Manchester, helping to create good jobs for local people and raise living standards in the city.
I am thrilled that the Manchester Digital Campus has been confirmed by the Government today.
This is fantastic news for our city and will create over 9,000 jobs and a new city centre park that will bring the derelict former Ancoats retail park brought back to life.
Meeting and thanking Labour Party members is one of the best bits of my job. Great to join @adamjogee.bsky.social and colleagues this weekend to raise much needed campaign funds, and talk about the difference Labour is making putting our values of fairness and social justice into action.
We know we need to go further and faster on the cost of living and give people hope, but we’re seeing real Labour help coming through. (Nice to persuade the audience member on that)

The only way to protect ourselves from oil and gas price spikes is to get off the rollercoaster of fossil fuel markets and onto clean homegrown power.
That’s the mission of this Labour Government.

Great to join my good friend @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social and Labour Muslims Network for their annual Iftar.
Good to meet women from across London at International Women’s Day events organised by Labour colleagues in Parliament
