Congratulations to all of us!!! 🥳
Poster of the event. It reads "Celebrate IWD with the women of QMUL Faculty of Science and Engineering. 5th March 2025, 15:00-17:00, G.O. Jones Lecture Theatre. It shows the profile pictures of speakers Jessica Agnew-Blais and Marcella Bona, and chair Claudia Garetto.
Ahead of the International Women's Day 2025, we organised an interesting, intense, enlightening and fun event, led by Professor Claudia Garetto.. www.seresearch.qmul.ac.uk/pce/iwd25/
Hopefully the first of a long series 🤩

Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science!! Greetings from the SPSC meeting at @cern.bsky.social 🤩
Did you know that massive vector bosons also come in triplets?
Physicists at the ATLAS Collaboration at #CERN have observed “VVZ production” – a rare combination of three massive vector bosons produced simultaneously at the LHC. Read our new briefing to find out more! ⤵️ atlas.cern/Updates/Brie...
Today 22 of our @qmulspcs.bsky.social undergraduate students have come to visit #CERN and had the opportunity to go underground into the @atlasexperiment.bsky.social cavern!!
Michal, Linda, Nathan and Marcella
Congratulations to Nathan who successfully passed his viva today!! 🥳 Good luck with his next adventure on @lhcb.bsky.social in Paris 🤩
Our own @marcellabona.bsky.social and @sethzenz.bsky.social being awarded! And thanks to our good @neutrinosqmul.bsky.social friends for the pictures 🥰
..and the ATLAS @atlasexperiment.bsky.social briefing is out:

The mass distribution of W±h in the low-NN-score SRs (top) of the merged ℓ±ν bb̄ event categories. The term `Others' summarises events from tHjb, tWh, tt̄tt̄, and SM Vh production. The background prediction is shown after a background-only maximum-likelihood fit to data. The lower panels show the ratio of the observed to the estimated SM background. The shaded bands show the total post-fit uncertainty in the background. The expected signal contribution assuming mH± = 900 GeV, normalised to a cross-section times branching ratio (σsig × B) values of 1.8 pb, is shown as a dashed histogram.
New ATLAS analysis just out from our group: a first search for a possible charged Higgs boson decaying into a W boson and Standard Model Higgs boson 🥳 (spoiler!) No significant excess found, but new exclusion limits are obtained spanning masses up to 3.0 TeV 😎 atlas.web.cern.ch/Atlas/GROUPS...
Compilation of results on the lifetime of neutral B mesons from B factories (BaBar and Belle), Fermilab experiments (CDF and D0) and LHC experiments (CMS, LHCb, and ATLAS)
World most precise measurement on the lifetime of neutral B mesons now out from ATLAS (@atlasexperiment.bsky.social)!!See details here atlas.web.cern.ch/Atlas/GROUPS.... Looking forward for the CERN seminar tomorrow: home.cern/events/new-h... 🤩
