DLD is really very common. Way more common than other well know conditions such as autism.
DLD is a difficulty with using and understanding words and sentences.
And the biggest problem is that very few people have heard of it.

Thousands of children with SEND to benefit from assistive tech Government launches innovative pilot with up to £1.7m available to help children with SEND achieve and thrive at their local school.

From our two specialist schools, we’ve seen how technology can help children with complex speech and language challenges.

But this is not a complete solution — Early years and school staff still need mandatory training in speech and language development.

I've joined Blue Sky to raise awareness about developmental language disorder (DLD) in adults. It so often gets left out of discussions about neurodivergence. I'll be posting more on this soon. #DevLangDis #RADLD #NAPLIC #AFASIC #inclusion #neurodiversity #neurodiversityatwork
