Liverpool, I am almost back in you! Catching glimpses of the city skyline as the train trundles over the river after Runcorn. One of my favourite views for nearly 23 years now.

I feel this in my (weary) soul!
Did a reading challenge in January and my activity since then has been pretty embarrassing. Good job I have multiple long train journeys over the next few weeks, seems to be the only time I’m actually able to settle to a book!
My article about why “gender questioning” is a particularly inappropriate term for trans and non-binary children is very relevant here…
Can’t settle to anything tonight. Away from home so it’s even trickier than it might usually be!
Melody Valentine (Tara Reid), Josie McCoy (Rachel Leigh Cook), and Valerie Brown (Rosario Dawson) standing with their instruments in front of a sign that reads “#1 Band in the World”
Fiona (Parker Posey) and Wyatt Frame (Alan Cumming) sat on Fiona’s bed
Alexandra Cabot (Missi Pyle) sat on a plane saying “I'm here because iwas in the comic book.”
Les (Alexander Martin) of DuJour reminding everyone “DuJour means friendship!”
Happy 25th anniversary to the best movie ever
The cover of ‘The Magic Fish’ graphic novel by Trung Le Nguyen. A boy wearing glasses and a patchy coat, holding a book in his hands. Behind him is a mermaid figure with long flowing hair.
Just devoured this graphic novel. Beautiful!
One of the best movies on consumerism there is, with a banger of a soundtrack thanks to @kayhanley.bsky.social.
Maybe this weekend is the one where we learn how to play Lorcana?
Friday for me tomorrow (with apologies to all for which it isn’t!) Very much looking forward to a relaxed extended weekend.
When I came out to my parents, I was terrified. I stayed up all night and read the Prisoner Of Azkaban for comfort. My relationship with those books is more than nostalgia...
You couldn't pay me to spend a single second of my finite life on supporting the franchise today.
Reminder that if you see something horrific, there is good evidence that playing Tetris as soon as possible helps.
Giving yourself PTSD from seeing photos or film clips doesn’t help anyone.
Watching some men’s hockey (getting in the swing of things)
I made the mistake of watching it for the first time on a plane. Very difficult to pretend everything’s fine in such a confined space!
Love this short!
Surprised to see We Bury The Dead already available to buy (convinced it was due a cinema release this year). It had some interesting ideas, overall felt like it was lacking a bit of something.
We had about 35 minutes without rain yesterday, in what feels like at least a fortnight with relentless wet and grey conditions. Surely the sky runs out of water at some point soon?
I obviously opened a door wrong, or lifted a mug up at slightly the wrong angle or something, so my decaying body decided that my left hand knuckles/little finger and inner arm need to be sore and fairly ineffective for the next 24-48 hours (probably)?
Looking forward to ‘feels like’ -15C 😬
I’m sorry 😔 Crying feels like a perfectly reasonable response to me.
Countdown widget on my phone is doing some HEAVY lifting tonight.
Why are there fireworks? It’s light out, it’s a random Sunday afternoon? (Is it football related? It’s usually football related when I don’t understand why fireworks)
Did you know that World Book Day £1/€1.50 books are available in braille, large print and audio?
Find out how you can access them from our partners here - https://ow.ly/S5iP50Yfb4i
(Also I cry at lots of things, so you can imagine what I was like during this!!)
The coming out scene, Yuna’s reaction in particular, instantly took its place amongst my favourites.
I was at school during Section 28. I was at Uni when it was finally repealed. This history should not be repeating itself.
Finally got round to finishing Heated Rivalry. I think I benefitted from not binging it (although no judgement to anyone who did). Taking some time for it to percolate really helped the powerful calmness of the final episode be even more impactful.
You were not wrong! Loved 5, but 6 was no slouch either.
How was today the sunniest, most pleasant day we’ve had in weeks, only for it to start snowing for an hour or so (didn’t settle at all) and now the temperature has dropped to the point where even I’m feeling a bit cold?
