Guess Jets have been using AI for years
related to this was a key insight I had many years ago: at a big organization literally every single person, no matter where they are on the org chart, thinks of themselves as a middle manager
looks like it's an iheart-wide initiative since last fall. Into it. www.insideradio.com/free/iheartm...
Was listening to z100 yesterday and they are running spots proclaiming themselves ”never artificial” and “100% human” — what do I know but it does feel like a big deal for a station like that to decide that its listeners want be on the human side of the AI war.
History isn't binary, and in fact people like complicated stories. From our conversation with the great @unumkenburns.bsky.social about America 250, storytelling, and how he's spending his July 4th. Full episode in our newsletter! youtu.be/6nH_i-Gg11E
Coming up this week on "50 Weeks That Shaped America" -- the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Our first episode diving into Cold War politics. Plus: why you can't drive a boat over a coral reef. Full, early, ad-free episode is going out to paid newsletter subscribers in an hour --> thisdaypod.substack.com

Yeah, I do that kind of thing all the time. Put something upside down, put a fork in the bathroom, etc etc..
appreciate the spirit of a spicy take like this, and agree with some of the critique of where her songs came from, but to say she doesn't have a bunch of classic hits that still hold up today is laughable!
Lots of news on the America250 front this week, from patriotic gardens to Bruce+Bon Jobvi. Rounded up in the @thisdaypod.com newsletter.
We also have a mini-interview with an architecture critic about home design and the bicentennial...

Steve Kerr huddling with Steph and Dray with a minute left, telling them he loves them and isn’t sure if he’s going to be back next year… then watching as Dray picks up a second tech and gets ejected from the game… pretty good summary of why you might not want to be back next year!
Listening to @thisdaypod.com podcast about MLK Day reminds me that as a child in Connecticut we had a school holiday in the 70s & 80s. Only recently did I learn that CT was the first state to declare a MLK Day holiday, in 1973!

For @wired.com’s April cover, we take you inside Madison Square Garden’s surveillance machine — which has allegedly tracked a trans woman, lawyers, protesters, and more.
Revelatory work from @noahshachtman.bsky.social & @robertsilverman.bsky.social that I’m proud to publish and urge you to read.
this story is obviously horrifying and i don’t mean to take away from that the but the coterie of ny/nj lunkheads working for dolan profiled within is astonishing
We used to be a proper country
Oh, every one is always nostalgic for the geocites era web but when somebody actually makes a platform that crashes every 10 minutes, suddenly everybody wants future technology, I see how it is.
My sense is that Blue Heron is starting to get a lot of buzz and, having just seen it, I can report that it deserves it all. Masterful film. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/16/m...
When an NPR station got its first blind reporter they called Andrew Leland for guidance. That moment led Andrew to write a manifesto on how blind audio journalists and their colleagues can work together, covering field recording, DAWs, editing, and belonging.

People are asking ChatGPT things I would normally just ask a friend, parent, mentor, therapist or medical professional for or about. It takes work to build and maintain those relationships, and figure out who is the right person to ask, but the alternative is a digital tool known for lying to users.
I don't say this to pat myself on the back, just to offer analysis: But on a podcast in Dec '24, I mused about whether the high point of MAGA's cultural cache may have been, literally, the week before the 2024 election. And I kinda feel like that's become obvious in all sorts of ways.
Half the text messages I've sent over the last week are me telling people to listen to this album. music.apple.com/us/album/eve...

ChatGPT: you’re right you’re so much smarter than him. He’s so schlubby and you’re so suave. Columbo will never catch you.
already had him on a couple weeks ago!
Carl is not alone. As it happens, my parents were visiting Cooperstown today. They listened to the episode on the drive over, went in looking for stuff about Abner... nothing. WHOOPS! I agree, I think we should do a proper bonus ep about the founding/story of baseball. Who should be the guest?
