I was fortunate to read an ARC awhile ago--the lead character is very interesting, and the noir is just fun. Check it out...

Hey, @221bcooee.bsky.social -- see Teller of Tales, page 57. ACD "...quietly put up money for the support of Mrs. Budd and her daughters."

This is a great episode, as always, but I have to tell you the best part is the bloopers at the end. I was laughing so much.🤭

When I hear of Sherlock (Doyle, actually) everywhere... As with most Sherlockians who read a variety of different authors, I often find mentions of Holmes in non-Doylean books I read. Authors can ...

Thinking about finding #sherlockholmes in nearly everything I read at #DotingOnDoyle tonight.

I’m apparently very inspired and intrigued by this book. This one ended up with the most ‘thinking flags’ I’ve put in a new-to-me book in quite some time.

Another social media account deleted. Down to 2. Some fuss at me, saying "How do you expect to sell your books if you don't write content for followers?" Idk, but I'm not interested in writing "content." I love my SH folks and a few of them like what I write. I suppose it will work out, enough.

Many thanks to @mrsherlockholmes.bsky.social for the kind words. So glad you like the story— it was good fun to write. 💜

I've spent an entire week writing and rewriting the same seven introductory paragraphs over and over. I think I'm *finally* ready to go forward with this work.

The ridiculous Words with Friends now considers “sherlock” a non-proper noun. Of course my BSI friend Bob the Nomad had no trouble unscrambling those letters. 🤨

Also fun for me in this issue of @sherlockholmesmag.co.uk : the great interview with artist Jeffrey McKeever includes the art he created for my story "The Adventure of the Irresistible Woman" as published in The Strand Magazine. I'm lucky!

[Ahem...including my short story, "The Problem of the Dreaming Man"...just sayin' 😉]

Hey @margaretwalsh.bsky.social that is funny. Good to remind yourself! 👏
I'm fascinated by writers' plot notebooks. I seem to be incapable of it. I have pages of random inspiration quotes from books/poetry I read. I write line by line; I seldom know beyond my first line when I start. Ridiculous. 🙄

I'm reading story notes I made before four months of inertia:
"Be sure the death is seen as perpendicular rather than horizontal, symbolic and hidden."
WTH does that even mean?
(I think we can safely scratch it off. 🤨)

I decided to turn around. Not only because of the sign— my dog was acting ‘funny.’ She knew something I didn’t.
