Strong sense of brotherhood, work in colonies, made entirely of different minerals, materials and metals. Their whole mode of survival relies on them acting similarly to how ants do.
They have community, love for one another, and are incredibly hard to take down because of it.

Wishing you good luck! I'm just finishing a "new players guide" for veteran TTRPG players for my system.
They seem to struggle the most understanding the concepts, while new players flourish, so I'm hoping this guide helps address everything.
I just want a TTRPG space where I can just not feel like I am being sold something. I want to meet people, play games, learn about what makes them tick and just have fun.
We have really forgotten all of this is the reason why we play these games, and most other indie devs here also act so corporate
TTRPGs are anything but profitable, yet it feels like every person I talk to in this industry online is just trying to sell me something, regardless of whether they are or not.
News flash, it’s so unwelcoming. I used to be like this but I realised that I don’t think I’ll ever get out there.
I’m gonna make a totally Brave and True take (tm).
Why are so many people in this hobby so corporate and only in it for money? I don’t get it.
This hobby is so niche it’s anything but moneymaking. I’m just here to make people play actually fun games and make some pals, some friends.
To add to this, all you really need to actually ground the world is to establish the rules, focusing on these ecosystems allows you to create something seemingly outlandish at first, but really makes sense within the universe itself and can create whole societies and cultures.
Learning Foraging, how ecosystems and biomes function really help make worlds feel real, and actually grounding a lot of the magic in biological processes from various creatures helps create intrigue and mystery for phenomena that occurs.
This happens way too much.
I can reassure those that are reading that I do spend 9am-2am about 3 times a week minimum (and about 9am-7pm otherwise) writing so much to get the pbp up and running, and game mechanics written for updates.
We hate the use of generative AI in the TTRPG space!
New Metanoia Engine Post! Free for everyone to read, discussing a lot of what's been going on as a progress update on the #ttrpg, Hope you enjoy it and have a good week! :)

Detective arriving on the scene! Eyecon 2026 day 1 over, day 2 of the heist tomorrow!!! Excited to play more!!! #ttrpg
I’m pretty sure I saw someone do exactly this and use AI slop as art recently, safe to say I don’t think they’re still operating.
You’re right though. But that’s because of everyone’s fear of new games.
Print-on-demand and its consequences.
Hey! Welcome!
Mine is Pretzels. They’re cheap and have a better crunch than chips. One of the only few snacks I eat when I’m not making meals.
Goes hard with homemade queso.
The thing is… I’m really the only person who does open world to the extent I want.
A lot of this isn’t necessarily rules (the ruleslite system trend is going strong still! Bound to find one out there for you!)
I’m a bit strange in the way I play. I like to build things and have important grounding in the world, where I can say “yes! This is my impact! This is me!”, doing my own thing and working towards my own goal.
Open world sandbox games became my bread and butter because of it.
A lot of this is fixed with good writing and pacing, something that is typically solved with storytellers and different mediums.
You might have not found the right kind of game or people. I was like that.
… With the consequences being dire if you don’t cast, but the shunning of the people if you do.
It’s a genuinely awesome experience that requires a GM that’s attuned to the world and it’s aesthetic, really fun if you can find them.
Going into town with many mechanical limb as a caster, developing metal disorders from bits of your mind being taken, the metaphysical sacrifices too.
A lot of this is RP, sure, but the inherent idea of sacrificing something instead of spell slots is genuinely more powerful thematically…
Ones where sacrifice becomes important for casting makes a really interesting thematic point and creates deep subtext and parallels.
A lot of low fantasy games are themed like this.
Casters requiring any sort of sacrifice to cast a cantrip is a powerful message.
As a TTRPG developer, finding active players is the hardest part, but even as a player, finding a good game for me can be a Sisyphean task. What got me through it was genuinely becoming more involved in my local community.
TTRPG Coffee meets are a good way to meet more people!
Play-by-posts are good for inbetween games between games.
Beyond this, broadening your horizons to themes and systems, finding those really niche indie developers is the best way. You may also have local TTRPG scenes operating in the underground!
Check your LGS! GM’s post listings there sometimes.
Hey!
I don’t know your location or methods, but mine usually is from local groups and areas and their discord server.
Being located in Australia, Discords our main TTRPG hub. A decent few servers for people in our Timezone.
You also might want to consider playing play-by-posts?
Thanks for giving us a shot! :). Feel free to ask us if you have any questions or need assistance!

These two are subspecies of Homo Ludens, the successor to Homo Sapiens after the Great Evolution.
They're also an allegory for gender expression (masc/fem), intersex people, and transgender experience (especially when I have Male Drows and Female Elves).
Elves and Drow are sexually dimorphic. One being the light energy of the cosmos (elves, tending to be more logical, optimistic), and dark energy (drow, tending to be more creative, pessimistic).
Elves can hear secrets, while Drow can hear emotions. Together they're unstoppable...
Not trying to brag, but B)...
We were designed to be played anywhere, on long car trips, walking places while foraging, pubs, etc.
We're not a Solo game (working on it!), but close. We use "dice" as a means, but this can easily be translated to anything else with the power of percentages!
One system... or one session?
If it's the first, Good Morning!
If not, 🛌💤
Let us give you a few more then!

Bigfoot Hunting in TTRPG format.
Gigantopithecus my beloved....
Percentages are an underappreciated medium in the TTRPG scene (especially for scaling down different dice rolls for converting rules!), but only really work for when they're done right. Have your abilities and actions be your main help.
I know of a good game you can play with percentile dices... 👀
